Ch.30 Thomas Ending

I thought, I heard my name being called, confused. I turned around seeing Thomas, sitting by himself reading something, I sighed thinking I'm just hearing things. I decided to go over to him. I haven't spoken to him since the kiss.

"Thomas?" He turned to me, "Oh, hey McKenna, are you okay?" He asked. "Y-yeah" he quickly put his papers away with teary eyes.

"What's that?" I asked. "Nothing just something Newt gave me. It made me clear about how I feel though." He said looking at me. I titled my head confused I looked over at Newt, seeing him talking to Minho laughing.

"I love you McKenna. W-when we kissed before we thought, we were going to die. I knew, I didn't want to die. I knew, I wanted to live my life, with you. I knew, I wanted to protect you, when I seen what Janson did. I knew, I always had to do that it was my job to. Not more so it was my job though, more so I wanted to. Because I love you." He said while looking at me.

I looked at him smiling, "Thomas I love you too. I know, I was confused in the beginning, but the more I realized what we had in common with our pasts, and the way you've treated me compared to the others. I knew, I loved you too. I know we used to date before the maze." I said looking down, "I had flashbacks it's just it was hard to understand and process in that moment, I'm sorry, I never really fully told you." I said looking him.

He put his hand gently on my face, "hey, all that matters is we have each other now. With or without our old memories. That's in the past. We've developed newer and better ones for our future. I'm just happy to know you chose me." He said looking at me in the eyes.

"Do you want to do something with me?" He asked. "Sure what's that?" I asked he took my hand going to the ocean.

I noticed it was getting day time. I didn't realize everyone had went to bed.

He quickly grabbed a tool and started writing a name on the rock, I put my hand on his shoulder smiling sadly.

Thomas put his hand on mine, it said 'Chuck' on the wall underneath my mom's name.

He took my hand guiding me to the water, "I want you to have this." He handed me a tiny bottle. "In case you ever need it for the future, since I know you're not immune." I shook my head, "Thomas." "Please. If there's anyone I trust it with it's you." He said looking at me. I smiled slowly taking it from him.

I looked at it, he lifted my chin up gently before kissing me, I kissed him back before pulling away. "I love you Tommy." I said whispering.

"I love you too McKenna.....Marry me." He whispered back.

I smiled, "I will marry you."
