"Newt?" I questioned going over seeing him sitting by himself on the edge. I sat next to him "seems like I can't hide this anymore." He mumbled showing me his arm. No........ he can't....

"I'm sorry." Newt shook his head, "No Newt you don't have to apologize this, it isn't your fault... I just wish you would've told me." I gently put my hands on his face to have him look at me.

He looked at me, "We will find a cure find a way to save you." I said.

"There is no cure. That's the problem McKenna." Newt looked at me.

"There has to be another way" I shook my head.
"It's not going to make any difference." He said.

"How do you know that?" I asked him.

"I just know.... And I didn't want to tell you because I knew you wanted a family. I want to be able provide for you your needs. But I can't if I'm....going to be gone..." He paused I shook my head I didn't like hearing what he had to say, "I knew you would be worried about me more than the others. You have others to love and that will be alive to take care of you. I want you to be happy." He said tearing up looking forward.

"Newt. I'll always love you. No matter what you can or can't provide for me. I don't care about all that other stuff about family I mean I do but if it means not having something, to save  your life that's all that matters to me, I just want you to live." I said taking his hand.

He gently squeezed it back, "we will find Minho." I promised. "We will find you a cure. I'll do everything in my power to save you." I said.

"Don't make promises you can't keep.." he whispered. I felt a few tears slip at that, I knew my promises were not always the best at keeping because of situations but I had a feeling something was going to happen, I didn't know what, but it felt right keeping the promise, "All I know is that WICKED must have put me in that maze for a reason. Maybe it was literally just so they could tell the difference between immunes like Thomas and people like me and you." He said looking at me.

I looked down thinking, "you know we can still fix this. If we get Thomas to help." I said looking at him.

"He can help us find a cure" I said.
"Don't worry about me love okay? You have Thomas and Gally for your future you don't need me in it. This is a sign maybe that I'm not the one for you after all." He said looking ahead.

"Newt don't say that! I'll always need you! You've been there for me from the start when I first got in the box! Till now. I'll always need you... and I'll always love you." I said looking at him with my eyes tearing up.
"You've saved me plenty of times let me save you."
He gently put his hands on my face, I looked at him in his eyes before he kissed me I kissed him back. He pulled me in more closer I kept kissing him gently. I could tell he was getting more rougher by placing his hand on my lower back and moving me.

He pulled away gently gasping for breath while looking at me, "If anything happens you have to promise to move on." I shook my head tearing up. "No...." I said "McKenna" he mumbled.

"Newt I'm not going to move on because you will live." I encouraged while shaking my head.

Thomas came over, "everything okay?" Thomas asked.

I got up wiping my tears "Yeah. I'll just go." I said leaving.

I walked past the room everyone was in, I was going to my bed room for now. I needed a moment.

To process everything, I heard footsteps but it made me go faster.

"Hey, what's going on?" Gally asked me while grabbing my arm to face him.

I turned to face him and he immediately pulled me in a hug, "Newt is infected" I whispered.

He held me tighter while I sobbed in his arms.

NEWTS POV
"I'm sorry for earlier." I said to Thomas.

"It's okay..." Thomas said "I can't hide this...I just told her..." I said showing my arm.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Thomas asked.
"The same reason I told her." I said.

"I know there's no cure Thomas. So please promise me something." I said looking at him.

"I want you to take care of McKenna....for me while I'm gone. Show her the love....I would give her....a family even if she asked please? I know I can't give her, her future she needs and I just want her to be happy. I know you can do that." I said looking at him.

Thomas nodded tearing up "I will I promise." I knew he probably planned on it anyway if she chose him over Gally and I but I could tell he really did care for McKenna and probably had a relationship long before me with her before the maze.

He got us this far. I still believed in him that he could keep her safe and could rescue Minho.
