Ch.16

All of us soon found a spot to sleep at with a fire pit made.

I was laying down still processing my emotions.

"I thought we were supposed to be immune" that was enough for me I got up walking away feeling eyes on me as I walked a bit of a distanced but not too far.

I just needed a minute to myself.

"Not all of us" I heard in the distanced.

I grabbed my leg feeling pain, I grunted confused why it had so much pain.

"If Winston could get infected we should assume so can the rest of us" I heard Newt say.

I heard someone walking behind me I turned my head seeing Thomas.

"You okay?" He asked. "Yeah." I said looking in the distanced but seeing nothing but darkness.

"My leg it's just been killing me recently" I said sitting down.

He sat down next to me he put a strand of hair behind my ear "I'm sorry" "for what?" "Winston"

I paused "I didn't really know him" I said looking around.

"I should've. It's my fault. I didn't get to know him. Now he's dead." I said fidgeting with my ring.

"Hey it's not your fault." Thomas said. "None of this stuff is." I looked down at my leg.

"I never thought I'd say it but I miss the glade" I heard Frypan say.

I put a hand on my head thinking,
"you know what he said to me?" I asked.

Thomas looks at me "he said take care of everyone." I looked in the distance again.

"You have so far and so have I..." Thomas said taking my hand.

I smiled sadly "but I feel like it's impossible to save everyone. As much as I want that to be me instead of them" I said whispering.

Thomas looks at me sadly gripping my hand tighter "Hey we'll make it through this." He whispers.

I nodded and got up going next to Newt he moved sitting up a bit and motioned for me to lay my head on his lap.

I did so and stared up at him as he played with my hair.

Thomas soon came over sitting next to me.

I don't know when but I fell asleep.

It was the next day all of us continued our journey.

I noticed how much further away the mountains were it didn't look too far but it felt like it.

I heard a thud seeing the flask being thrown.
I looked at Minho smiling sadly.

Yayyy out of water.
I sighed as I pretty much almost dragged myself of tiredness.

It got dark again so all of us laid down falling asleep.

I was next to Thomas cuddling him.

Thomas gasped making me wake up jumping "hey hey hey!" Thomas yelled.

"Get up!" Thomas hit Newt to wake him up.

I helped Newt up "newt get up! Come on let's go!" Thomas yells.

"Frypan, Aris!"
"I see something!" I looked in the distance seeing lights and a possible building.

"What is it?" Newt asks taking my hand.

"What?"  "See that!" Thomas points.

"It's lights" Thomas said happily.

"We've made it" Newt said.

We all heard a loud noise turning our heads behind us.

It started to thunder and lightning.

A lightning struck making me jump a bit I stood close to Newt he gripped my hand tighter.

"Let's go we gotta go!" Thomas urged.

All of us took our stuff we had and started running.

It felt forever but we continued to run from the storm. "HURRY" "GO"

"RUN!" I yelled.

I kept hearing lightning noises making us yell.

"ALRIGHT KEEP MOVING COME ON!"

"LETS GO!" "COME ON MCKENNA" I stumbled a bit with my leg being in pain but I kept pushing through running.

"Go go go!"

"We're getting closer!" Minho yells.

I seen the building in clear view.

I yelled "keep going!" Thomas yells.

Lightning was going crazy around us making me scared one of us would get struck by it.

I chased after Thomas the best I could.

"Get inside go!" Thomas yells.

I heard a loud explosion behind me I turned around seeing Thomas "THOMAS!"

I looked behind him seeing Minho "MINHO SHIT!" Once I noticed Thomas was okay I ran to Minho.

"MINHO!" I screamed I shook him slightly and tried lifting him up "Thomas help me!"

The others came up to us.

"Come on get him up!" Newt orders he lifted him and I helped carry him.
