On November 5, The Dingles cause an explosion when their stray petrol can catches alight.
The next day, Tracy Barlow visits Ken Barlow and Deirdre Rachid to break the news that she's getting married.
Another next day, Peggy Mitchell tells Tiffany that she's found a lump on her breast. Annie Sugden returns to sell her cottage and share in Emmerdale Farm. Dermot Ashton and Rob Hawthorn attempt to burgle Rob's drug dealer's lock-up, bringing Lucy Benson and Carol Groves as alibis. In the ensuing car chase, Rob ends up accidentally crashing into River Dee. Terry Williams leaves his wife, Angela, also leaving her his £55,000 debt.
Another next day, Fiona Middleton meets an admirer, policeman Alan McKenna, when she has a singing engagement at Shirelle's nightclub.
Three days later, Dermot Ashton dies after drowning in the River Dee. Carol Groves is left hospitalized as a result of the crash, whilst Rob Hawthorn and Lucy Benson escape mostly uninjured.
The next day, Annie Sugden returns to Spain after she said goodbye to Kyle.
Another next day, Tracy Barlow marries Robert Preston at Weatherfield Register Office.
Another next day, Kathy Bates proposes to Dave Glover.
Another next day, Raquel Watts leaves husband Curly and moves to Kuala Lumpur.
Three days later, Joe's schizophrenia worsens. The Osborne family, who have purchased The Dog in the Pond from the Andersen family, arrive in the village.
The next day, Dave Glover proposes to Kathy Bates, five days after being rejected.
Two days later, David leaves Walford for Milan.
The next day, Denise Osbourne and Brian Dunkley show up at No.1 to take Denise's son Daniel away with them. Denise walked out on Daniel's father Ken Barlow earlier in the year and showed no interest in the child. Ken's nanny Kelly Thomson is unable to contact Ken to warn him.
Two days later, Ken Barlow arrives at No.1 too late to stop Denise Osbourne and Brian Dunkley leaving with Ken and Denise's son Daniel. Fred Elliott asks Rita Sullivan to marry him.
The next day, Ken Barlow reluctantly asks live-in child carer Kelly Thomson to move out of No.1 as his solicitor tells him that her presence will look bad in his case against Denise Osbourne to gain custody of their son Daniel. Rob Hawthorn is tried for the murder of Natasha Andersen, but is acquitted due to a lack of evidence.
Three days later, Dave Glover and Kathy Bates marry. The Windsor family try to surprise Viv with Scott's return but they catch her kissing Terry Woods. Kurt Benson accidentally hits Ruth Osborne on her motorbike with his car whilst trying to mow down Rob Hawthorn.
