On October 1, Don Brennan escapes from Weatherfield General just as he is set to return to custody and await trial for setting fire to Mike Baldwin's factory and kidnapping Alma Baldwin earlier on.
Two days later, Bill Webster and Maureen Elliott elope together to Germany, only eleven days after her wedding to Fred Elliott.
Another two days later, Ken Barlow sees Deirdre Rachid's boyfriend and supposed pilot Jon Lindsay working in the tie shop at the airport.
The next day, Driving at speed whilst drunk, Lee Stanley flips the car which he and Ollie Benson are driving in, in an attempt to avoid a reversing lorry. Stan dies in the crash. Kurt Benson also crashes the car in which he, Tony Hutchinson and Bazz are in, leaving Kurt comatose. Bazz goes missing following the accident. Max Cunningham meets O.B., whom he bickers with.
The next day, Billie Jackson is kidnapped by gangsters after he witnessed a break-in. Ollie Benson dies of his injuries sustained in the car accident.
Another next day, A vengeful Don Brennan attempts to kill Mike Baldwin at his factory, but fails when Angie Freeman intervenes. The showdown ends with Don attempting to kill Mike once more by running him over in his car, but he misses and ends up driving straight into the viaduct. Thereupon the vehicle explodes with Don inside it, killing him.
Another next day, Kurt Benson awakens from his coma. Bazz is found in a nearby river after a car accident a few days earlier.
Another next day, Mavis Wilton leaves the Street for good to live in Cartmel.
Three days later, Struggling with the news of her unborn baby's father's death, Cindy Cunningham throws herself down a flight of stairs.
Two days later, Don Brennan's funeral takes place and Nick Tilsley comes back from Canada for it, saying he's back for good. Kyle told Nick to stay before school.
The next day, The Jackson family leave Walford for a new life, after the heartache of Billie's kidnapping and to escape the gang. Linda Fowler is involved in a car accident caused by Lord Alex Oakwell. Steve Marchant and Kim Tate's engagement party takes place.
Three days later, Percy Sugden decides to move out of No.3 and into sheltered accommodation at Mayfield Court. Nick Tilsley and Leanne Battersby start a relationship.
The next day, Percy Sugden leaves the Street to live in Mayfield Court. Ollie Benson's funeral takes place.
Another next day, Linda Fowler dies in hospital of injuries sustained in the car accident.
Three days later, Single parent Sally Webster starts a relationship with Chris Collins.
Three days later, In pursuit of Les Battersby through the communal lofts after he has been letting himself into No.3, Ken Barlow falls through the ceiling of No.5 and onto a bed which contains a shocked Nick Tilsley and Leanne Battersby. Spike takes Ruth Osborne hostage and attempts to rape her, but she is rescued by Rob Hawthorn.
Two days later, Linda Fowler's funeral takes place.
