“We were very interested in the cure… We could already imagine the great number of people who can benefit from it if the knowledge is passed on to us and then to the other physicians… Unfortunately, His Majesty didn't want to talk about it so we had no choice but to remain quiet and continue our normal activities as imperial physicians… That was until I discovered something bizarre during a general checkup…”

“And what did you discover?” The emperor's impatient voice and unnerving gaze didn't let the old physician hesitate any longer…

“It was strange… Very strange… I found out His Majesty wasn't cured of sterility… But how can that be? So I secretly conducted a paternity test to confirm my suspicion but contrary to what I expected, it turned out positive… You and your brother had the same imperial blood running through your veins… The result made me more confused. At first, I thought I made a mistake just like how we made a mistake telling him he can't have children…”

“What did you do next?” The stern expression on his face served as a warning to the trembling old man.

“I… secretly conducted another test… twice… thrice…. several hidden tests just to prove it wrong but all the results turned out the same… His Majesty was sterile but you and the second prince have the same imperial blood. This strange discovery baffled me and affected me so much that I could no longer perform well… I wanted to tell the other physicians but doing so would expose what I did in secrecy… In the end, I decided to retire early.”

The exchange between him and the retired head imperial physician gave him more discomfort and agitation but it didn't stop there. He doesn't want to believe it or just accept it! He needed something or any proof that she was just inventing stories. That's why he summoned the great general next. But instead of proof and assurance, it only cemented her story…

“Your Majesty…” The general formally acknowledged and immediately bowed in respect.

He was so cranky and already impatient when the general arrived so he directly confronted the man.

“General Ardor, I only need a ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ to my questions. I hope you will not waste my time.” 

“Yes, Your Majesty.” The general instantly agreed.

“Do you know a celestial being named Psi?” He saw the general flinch and immediately looked horrified next.

“Who… who told you about her? Is it your…” The general was very surprised. He was not prepared for that question.

“Doesn't matter. Just give me a direct answer. If you lie to me, I would consider it a grave felony!”

The general hesitated for a moment before saying, “Yes, Your Majesty.”

“Is it true that you were the one who told my Imperial Father about her?”

“So he really told you about her!!!”

“So it's a ‘Yes’?!!”

The general scratched his head in annoyance before answering, “Oh, yes…” 

“And my Imperial Father asked for her help to have sons?”

“Yes and… No.”

“What do you mean?” It truly surprised him so he added, “I mean...elaborate your answer!”

“Well, as far as I know, your Imperial Father only wanted an heir to inherit the throne.”

“An heir… A son… You mean to say… my Imperial Father only needed one child?!!” 

“Yes.”

“Then why do I have a brother?!!” The revelation angered him even more since he had been wishing his brother wasn't born and vice versa.

“It was truly strange and kind of suspicious that she offered him two exceptional children… Well, your Imperial Father could not help but become very excited…” The general chuckled in amusement when he started to recall his best friend's naughty experience… “He… hehehe… He could not resist… Hahaha…” This time, the general could not help but laugh out loud as he remembered the funny things that happened after that.

“What's funny? Am I… missing something important?” The young emperor could not help but frown deeply when the general guffawed and then teared up from too much laughing and coughing at the same time.

The general realized he almost revealed his friend's embarrassing encounter with that beautiful being so he controlled his laughter and forced himself to look very serious. Luckily, he managed to stop himself in time and smoothly change the direction of his explanation.

 “Nothing, Your Majesty. What I mean is… your Imperial Father could not resist the tempting… offer so he happily accepted it without second thoughts.”

“You are not trying to fool me or hide anything from me, are you?”

“That's everything, Your Majesty.” The general spoke confidently. He was nervous but did everything to appear truthful and convincing.

Emperor Andrew stared at the general for what felt like an eternity. He could feel that something was amiss or lacking… But he decided not to pursue it because he needed to confirm an even more important matter…
