Unknowingly, General Ardor has nothing to fear as Beatrix has more interaction with Emperor Claudius and Empress Alyna than her biological parents so she is sure from the beginning how the emperor will possibly react...

He excelled in the imperial examination... It seems that General Ardor has so much trust and great expectations for this young man... This Zander King married General Ardor's daughter who is supposedly the future wife of one of my imperial sons. Poor girl, she contracted that strange disease and so the betrothal must be canceled. I will just compensate by giving her husband a good opportunity. That way she will not suffer in the future. This is me giving her and her family some face!

The emperor silently considered everything and came up with a firm decision next...

"Ardor, how about using that special reward now?" The emperor seriously offered.

"Huh?" The general did not know whether he should be happy or worried his daughter predicted accurately that it will be the emperor himself who will offer the option to use that special reward! Now, he is uncertain if he heard correctly... "Pardon, Your Majesty?"

"Do you think your son-in-law can handle a second-rank position in the imperial court?" The emperor made another inquiry which made the general even more uncomfortable.

"Yes, he is a talented and intelligent person! He will be fine! I am sure... he is the perfect person for that position!" The general assured confidently on the outside but worried on the inside... His daughter is playing a very dangerous game!

The news that General Ardor's son-in-law has been immediately given a second-rank position in the court secretly raised several eyebrows and earned several hidden scornful remarks and reactions behind the scenes...

"Imperial Brother, General Ardor's son-in-law is immediately given a second-rank position." Prince Anders suddenly opened the new talk of the town. "I am sure you know what this means..." He said with cruelty in his eyes.

"Yes! General Ardor was the one who discovered our secret hideout and helped Imperial Father to capture us! That damned general screwed us for the second time!!!" Prince Andrew said with extreme hate and murderous intent.

"We should not let him get away this time!" Prince Anders nudged his brother to get back at their common enemy.

"Of course, he cannot get away... But we need to discover his plan first and crush him together with his plan!!!" Prince Andrew declared while crushing the gold drinking cup like a ball of paper in his hand then released some of his internal energy on his fist to reduce the precious metal into nothing!

"So where should we start?" Prince Anders enthusiastically inquired.

"It is not where... It is who we should start..." Prince Andrew smirked as he remember the face of that person wearing the same clothing as the faceless man in his bad dreams!

On the first day of Zander King as a second-rank official, several people expected and waited for him to fail grandly on the first day... They even secretly sneered in their hearts when they saw him sitting on the farthest seat from the Emperor...

Hmph! At least, he knows his rightful place... It is at the bottom!!!

They secretly thought but they were stunned when Zander King offered a solution to the most pressing problem of the empire right at the perfect moment! Because of this, Zander King earned the Emperor's satisfaction on his first day as well as the honor to sit beside Prince Andrew starting on the next day!

"Imperial Brother, that Zander King is truly something!" Prince Anders declared with a mocking grin on his face after they ordered their food and drinks. They are inside a famous restaurant after the court meeting since they are unwilling to go to the place where their wife is still waiting to pounce on them.

"That is expected. Why else General Ardor would invest in someone like him?" Prince Andrew coldly replied while thinking that Zander King's presented idea in the court earlier is close to the plan that he started to prepare four months ago... His plan is still unfinished but this Zander King promised to present his plan tomorrow. If that Zander King can truly finish the plan overnight and present it to the court tomorrow... That is truly something!

"What is your plan?" Prince Anders curiously asked as he could see that someone is starting to get on his brother's nerves.

"In the meantime, just wait and see..." Prince Andrew said, unable to stop the curiosity in his heart. He wants to see what this Zander King could offer but when Prince Andrew finally saw Zander King's blueprint and the procedures to produce the fertilizer and pesticide, he immediately noticed the striking similarity! The only difference is his plan is still unfinished while Zander King's plan and procedures are completed up to the last details overnight! Now, something very fishy is going on and he is going to find out!!!
