The bride-swapping topic spread like wildfire to the public. It became the juiciest topic and laughing stock among the people, not only in Sky Empire but also in the Cloud Empire! It was a huge scandal and a slap to the face of the powerful families that were involved! 

Emperor Claudius assigned trusted people to conduct a secret and profound investigation into the incident. So far, the additional information that he received is either useless or leads to a dead end. It appears to be a carefully executed plan because there are no valid witnesses and no concrete proof...

As days passed by, his two imperial sons visit him regularly. They say that they would like to visit him and their imperial mother but he is not an idiot! He could sense that they are there to sway his thoughts to their benefit!

His first son is indirectly implying to solve the issue by officially exchanging the bride because what is done cannot be undone so everyone must accept the truth and deal with the consequences...

On the other hand, his second son is insisting that everything is his imperial brother's dirty trick! He is indirectly insinuating that the wrong cannot be made right. The only way to solve this case is to give Princess Beatrix back to him while Princess Madeline should go back to his imperial brother...

As he expected, the investigation did not get strong evidence or a conclusive outcome to pin down the culprit. He cannot publicly release the result of the investigation and punish the offender for the incident! The emperor rubbed his forehead gently to ease the headache. He tried to give everyone a win-win situation but still, everything ended up this way...

The truth is he already knew the culprit by instinct! Everything was so perfect and so calculated that the culprit already exposed himself long ago... Because the scheme is carefully planned and perfectly executed, what he had is only suspicion, conjecture, and circumstantial evidence! 

That night, he wrote two letters to his two imperial sons. Then, he ordered his two trusted messengers to deliver each letter to his two sons...

At midnight, you must secretly enter the study room alone. To obtain what you want, give me what I want first!

Prince Andrew read the message with a blank expression on his face. His imperial father suddenly asked for a secret meeting inside his study room in the palace when most people are already asleep...

Did he find out? But I was very careful... But what if he did? How did he obtain the evidence? 

He wondered but he knows that the only way to find out is to do what his father wants. He followed his imperial father's instruction and he was not surprised when a group of loyal imperial guards was guarding the study room outside. They remained like a statue on their spot as he silently entered the study room...

"Kneel!" His imperial father ordered when he was about to greet him. He followed without question. Next, his father asked him, "Why?!! Why did you do it?!! Why did you disobey me?!! Why did you choose to destroy the alliance between the two empires?!! Why did you have to embarrass me... your imperial mother... your imperial brother... the Cloud imperial family...as well as the Lamoreaux and Marvel families!!!" The emperor finally exploded. He has been keeping his anger, disappointment, and helplessness all this time but now he had enough.

Prince Andrew remained kneeling, he coldly stared at his furious imperial father and chose to remain silent...

Emperor Claudius did not like this kind of attitude of him. His anger escalated when his son seemed to be ignoring him! His hand automatically grabbed the closest object near him and hurled it at his kneeling son! He saw his favorite teapot crash violently into his son's forehead and shattered into several pieces before the remains fell and scattered on the floor! The remnants of warm tea trickled on his son's face and hair. The same liquid drenched the clothes while some of it are slowly dripping on the floor... His anger subsided a little especially when he noticed that a portion of his son's forehead had a small reddish spot now. He silently sat on his chair and looked at his kneeling son seriously. This time, he is calm and in control...

"Why did you disobey me?" The emperor calmly repeated his question.

This time, Prince Andrew blandly replied, "As I recalled, I married the princess of Cloud Empire like what you want me to do."

The emperor gritted his teeth and his hands tremble under the table due to anger but he controlled his emotion when he said, "Yes, but later, you humiliated the princess of Cloud Empire... No, you humiliated the whole Cloud Empire and betrayed the whole Sky Empire when you exchanged your real bride so you could steal your brother's wife and sleep with her!" It was no longer a question but a statement as the emperor expressed his thoughts to his son.
