Everything seemed to stop moving as he patiently waited for her to say the words...
"I... have to leave." She told him directly and then looked at him sadly. The truth was she did not want to leave them. She wanted to stay with them until their last breath but things are serious now.
When he looked stunned and remained speechless for a long time, she took the initiative to tell him about her collection of special energy that will be used for the rebuilding of her dwelling in the celestial realm. She explained the danger it could cause to the mortal realm if the vessel explodes and unleashes its content everywhere! She had to take it to the celestial realm where it could not cause harm to anyone.
"So, do you understand now? This is not what I want but I have to do this... " She gently told him and waited for him to respond but he remained quiet so she implored him to react, "Aiden... please say something... "
He clenched his hands fiercely. His mind and heart were not prepared for this revelation. He did not expect he would hear the word 'leave' instead of 'love'. It hurts so much to expect something and it did not happen... Now he could finally understand the sorrow, pain, and devastation his previous women went through after he dropped them like a hot potato! It took every ounce of his strength and willpower to simply ask, "When?"
"Don't worry! I would not immediately leave... I still have five years to train you and little Viktor!" She declared enthusiastically to chase away the gloomy atmosphere. She decided to tell him in advance so he would have ample time to adjust and prepare for her absence.
"But you will immediately come back to us, right?" He immediately asked her as if his life depended on it.
"Yes..." She said and then hesitated whether she should continue or not because she could already see the happiness in his eyes and huge relief in his facial expression but she must set a proper expectation... "But there is another thing you need to know... "
A huge boulder was lifted from his chest when she promised she would immediately come back to them but his smile instantly faded when he detected the helplessness in her next statement so he asked, " What is it?"
He could already tell he would not like what she was about to say when she closed her eyes and sighed deeply before she told him, "A minute in the celestial realm is at least five years here."
Hell...
This word flashed automatically inside his head. Sorrow instantly replaced happiness and spread all over his entire being. It felt like a bigger boulder was ruthlessly thrown down above his head and crushed him!
Another five years seemed to pass by rapidly. She was looking at the grim face of Prince Aiden and the ten-year-old Viktor who was pretending to be brave. She knew how hard it was for them because she felt the same. The last five years were spent in preparation for this day. She looked at them proudly for they did their best and had been very dedicated and diligent trainees, especially Viktor.
The boy was not only good-looking but extremely gifted too! He performed better than what she expected at his age. He was already prepared to learn the celestial abilities, unfortunately, she truly needs to go this time. In five years, the child learned the art of combat while Prince Aiden only learned the basic level of invisibility, levitation, and spell casting. His fighting prowess was good in mortal standards but he was below average when it comes to learning celestial skills! She believes slow progress is still better than no learning at all.
"Mother, please do not go!" Viktor decided to drop his pretense and embraced her tightly while weeping so hard and begging her to stay, "Do not leave me and Father here..."
She wanted to smack herself for agreeing to what Aiden wanted and that was to never tell the boy earlier that they are not his true parents. Her heart was aching so much as she could feel his sorrow, fear, and anxiety but she needs to do it for everyone's safety.
"Viktor... you already know why I need to go. We already talked about this... Don't be sad! I will be back... I promised! Be a good boy, okay?" She told him lovingly and patted his head gently.
She turned to the man beside the boy and said her final request, "Aiden, please take care of Viktor. Make sure that he is always safe and happy... You too! Be always safe and happy, okay?"
She wanted to cry when the man only stared at her lifelessly and did not reply. She wanted to do something or say something to him but she could already feel that the container was almost at its breaking point! Hell would become an understatement if it explodes!
"Goodbye, Aiden! Goodbye, Viktor!" She said her farewell before vanishing from their sight and returning to her celestial abode.
