Empress Alyna felt so cold and her whole body was filled with goosebumps while listening to the beautiful melody and song. Her memories revisited her thoughts... She was an ordinary orphan who got so lucky to have a job as a simple palace maid. Her appearance is average but she is amiable, smart, and good at doing her job so she was promoted to become one of the assigned maids who will attend to the crown prince's needs like serving his meals, following his orders, and keeping his courtyard spotless clean every day. 

The moment she saw Crown Prince Claudius was the first moment her heart beats for someone truly and deeply! Day by day, she would secretly take a peek at the handsome prince reading a book or studying his lessons. She knows that she could only love him from afar because the gap in their status is like heaven and earth. She was very careful not to show her true feelings to other people but like every woman in love, there are times that she could not help but dream about him and their future together as husband and wife...

Second, the crown prince is now the emperor of the empire while she is only a maid! He is very rich and powerful while she is very poor and helpless... He is very handsome while she is only... kind! He is amazing and elegant while she is very... ordinary! In short, he is way out of her league! She knows that it would take a miracle for her dream to happen so she prayed for the fulfillment of her impossible dream and one night, a very beautiful and powerful being visited her and changed her life entirely!

"Alyna, your prayer reached my celestial dwelling. I am Psi, the Goddess of Fate and Destiny. I guide everyone to their intended life path... I could see that your love is pure but the man you love is destined for another person."

"Great Goddess, please help me! I love him so much! I want him to love me too! I want him to marry me!" She begged and cried pitifully that her average looks became messier! She kneeled and almost kiss the floor to convince the beautiful being to grant her wish. "I will do anything or give anything that I have! I just want a future with him..."

The beautiful goddess looked at the messy and ridiculous appearance of the woman kneeling on the floor. It is not every day that a human prayer is strong enough to reach her so she laid the cards on the table...

"Look! The man you love is destined to love and marry this woman..." The goddess said and conjured an image of a very beautiful and elegant woman.

Young Alyna looked at the conjured image of the person said to be destined for the one she loves. She cried even more when she mentally made a comparison between her and the image. Just like her and the newly crowned emperor, the gap between her and this beautiful maiden is like heaven and earth! What hurts her more is she could see that the young emperor and the beautiful woman are what they call a match made in heaven!

"The young woman you are seeing is Lady Andrea Marvel. She is not only very beautiful, elegant, and smart... She also has a powerful family background that could greatly help the man you love in stabilizing his reign..." The goddess pointed out the obvious and poke a sore spot in her heart.

"Goddess, I know I am nothing compared to her... What I only have is... pure love!" She trembled and cried wretchedly as she felt so down and so helpless inside her heart. Even before the start of the competition, she is already the loser!

"Do not cry... You know what? There is a person destined for you too... Aren't you interested to meet and love him instead?" The goddess declared, trying to change her mind but her heart was already set on the young handsome emperor.
