What if your heart needs a spark of sunlight it cannot hold?
What if it screams to be filled with love it can no longer feel?
What if it longs for someone it cannot trust?
What if it craves a dream it can no longer see?
What if—just once—you dared to follow it, wherever it was meant to go?

Welcome to the ending of Delgado.

-The Future-

Year 1898 - Marunweem Hamlet - Cottage
;Angella and Sebastian standing at their house;

"Are you sure this is safe?" My head tilted over the edge, eyes tracing the endless drop below.

We stood on the cliffside where Sebastian had built our house. A cozy cottage with a sage-blue door, a little barn for my creatures, and an extra guesthouse for Anne, my aunt, or my brother whenever they came to visit.

"It needs some improvement," he admitted, squinting toward the horizon.

I looked down again, my heart tightening. "I'm trying to picture it, but I just can't imagine a child growing up near a cliff this high. What if she's reckless? What if she climbs too far, or falls from her broom into the ocean—"

My hand instinctively rested on my belly. "I need our girl to be safe."

Sebastian dropped the wooden planks he was carrying and dusted off his hands.
"I'll make sure none of those things happen, gorgeous. Neither of my girls are getting hurt; not while I'm around. And I'm not planning on leaving or dying, so..." His hand slid around my stomach in a protective circle.

How did we end up here?

After everything — after Hogwarts, after the heartbreak. Sebastian and I finally found our peace. We finished our last two years at school together. He became Quidditch captain again; I was his loudest supporter in the stands.

Marvolo eventually broke off the marriage. He told me he wanted me to have the life I deserved. And if that was with Sebastian, then I should take it. With his father gone, he was finally free to follow his own path. We kept in touch through letters and brief visits.

It bothered Sebastian sometimes, that Marvolo and I still spoke. He wasn't sure he could trust it — trust him. We argued about it more than once. And ever since I got pregnant, he'd been haunted by this silly, terrible dream. Of our daughter being taken away by him.

Sebastian and I both carried ancient magic, and there was a good chance our child would too. That's why he built our home here. Hidden, sacred, unreachable unless invited. I was to stay safe, take care of the baby, while he worked and protected us from the world.

And Marvolo... I wasn't allowed to see him again.
So we met secretly in person, once a year.

"Sebastian, what if—"

"No what-ifs, Delgado." His smile cut me off. "Do you trust me?"

"I do, but—"

"Then no doubts. Let me handle it."

He pulled a hammer from his belt, dug a few nails from his pocket, and began binding the wooden planks together. The sharp rhythm of the hammer echoed across the cliffs.

"Where did you learn to do that?" I asked, sitting down on the little bench near the yard.

"Your brother taught me." His voice carried over the sound of hammering. "It was the first thing he showed me. Right after taking me for a drive in that horrible car of his. We crashed it straight into a bush at the end of the street."

A grin tugged at his lips. "Don't go drinkin' and drivin'!"

A genuine laugh escaped me. "You two are such morons."

"I'm glad you two get along," i said with a smile. "Makes life a lot less complicated."

"What's not to like about me?" he teased.

"Don't act so arrogant, Sebastian." I threw a small pebble toward him. "Well, I suppose there are a few things that—"

He looked up, suddenly serious. "What things?"

"Never mind," I said quickly, shaking my head.

"No, go on Angelina. What things?"

"It was a joke, Sebastian, come on."

He smirked. "Bitch."

"Asshole."

"That's why you love me."

I smiled sheepishly. "I always did."

He blew me a kiss, grinning wide.

That evening, the air was warm and still. Sebastian and I sat outside on the porch, the one that overlooked the endless stretch of nature.

The stars hung low, bright enough to paint silver freckles across his face.

"She's moving again," I whispered.

Sebastian shifted, placing his hand gently over mine. His eyes softened, and I swear, for a moment, he forgot to breathe.

"She's strong," he murmured. "Just like you"

"And stubborn, like you" I added with a smirk.

He chuckled. "So... have you thought about names yet?" I looked up at the stars, their reflections dancing in his eyes. "I have a few."

"Go on," he said, voice low, coaxing. "Vivienne," I started slowly.  He smiled softly, repeating it under his breath. "Vivienne."

"And for her middle name..." I hesitated, my throat tightening. "Omi."

Sebastian's head turned, his expression faltering for a second, that quiet ache he never really let anyone see. "Omi," he echoed, voice breaking on the edge of a whisper. "After him?"

I nodded.

Sebastian swallowed hard, blinking toward the stars "Vivienne Omi Sallow."

He said it like a prayer. reverent, full of hope and loss all at once.

Vivienne Omi Sallow.
Our daughter.
