❝I'll talk to her.❞

I was blindfolded, but I could feel the shifting of space as we Apparated again and again—each jump sharper than the last. They were trying to disorient me, make me dizzy, weaken me before we arrived.
A rough male voice growled nearby. "Bring her to the dungeons. Orders from the boss."
The one holding me yanked my wrist hard enough to bruise. His grip was merciless, not loosening even for a moment as he dragged me along.
"You know he'll find me, right?" I warned, keeping my tone casual. "No matter where you take me."
He said nothing, only kept pulling as our footsteps echoed down a flight of stairs.
"He'll kill you with his bare hands," I went on, feigning a kind of lazy innocence. "He's done it before, you know."
No response. I smirked beneath the blindfold. "And not to be rude or anything, but you're stepping on my wedding dress, you asshole." I tugged at my wrist, trying to twist free.
"Shut your mouth, Delgado," he snapped, voice distorted through the mask.
"See, that's where you're wrong." My tone sharpened. "I'm not a Delgado anymore."
He hesitated slightly at that, just enough for me to sense it. I smiled—slow, deliberate. "I'm a Gaunt. And that's why I'm here, isn't it? Because being one of them is a curse."
Still no answer, but I could feel his patience slipping through his grip.
"It's alright," I said sweetly, twisting the knife. "I love being a Gaunt. I mean, who wouldn't?" I let out a bitter laugh. "An amazing brother-in-law who raped me... a wonderful husband who's a serial killer... and a loving father-in-law who wants to own me for my power instead of embracing me for who I am."
The air grew heavier as we reached the bottom of the steps. A metallic click echoed—the sound of a lock disengaging.
"So yes," I said with a cold smirk. "It's an honor to be part of this deranged little circus."
The blindfold was yanked away. Light stabbed at my eyes just as I was shoved hard to the ground. My palms caught the stone before my face could hit it.
"You asshole," I spat, pushing myself up and brushing dust from my torn skirt. "You're ruining my wedding dress."
When I looked up, he was already stepping back. A long black coat. A ghost mask with a dark veil beneath it—faceless, nameless.
He laughed low. "Have a nice night, sweetheart."
And with that, he slammed the door shut, leaving me alone with the echo of his voice—and the cold, hollow silence of the dungeon.
it couldn't be.
That nickname... that name.
Sebastian was the only one who ever called me that. It couldn't be him. He wouldn't—he couldn't—work with Mr. Gaunt. Not even for a thousand galleons.
"Sebastian!?" I screamed, my hands gripping the iron bars so tightly they rattled against the stone. "Sebastian!"
But the man didn't turn. He just kept walking, his footsteps fading into the dark until the heavy door at the end of the corridor slammed shut, leaving only the echo.
