Part 90 - CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR Part 1

I POSTED THIS PART, AND PART 91, IN DECEMBER 2024 TO COINCIDE WITH CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR (ALBEIT QUITE EARLY IN DECEMBER).JUST LIKE BACK ON OCTOBER 31 I WROTE A HALLOWEEN PART. BUT OBVIOUSLY NOT EVERYONE WILL READ THIS AT CHRISTMAS OR NEW YEAR. SO FOR FUTURE READERS, IF YOU'RE READING THIS IN THE MIDDLE OF JUNE OR SOMETHING, I WISH YOU A HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR FOR THE FUTURE! 

While Sean was in hell with Albert, Edna and Tyson, in Florida, life went on as normal back at Grange Road school in the UK

The police came to the school to inform everyone that Matthew had died by suicide jumping from the roof of a high rise. They also told them about the murders Matthew had committed. No one cared much about Mark as no one had ever really liked him much.

Everyone was sad about Matthew's death though but not all of them were surprised

''I kind of had this horrible feeling Matt might do something like that'' Stephen said sadly ''I just knew he was way too damaged by Sean to ever really recover''

''I wasn't sure if he would actually kill himself'' Liam said ''I was thinking more that he would do something really horrible to be put back in prison''

''Well the police said he killed Mark and someone else'' Louis pointed out ''Seems that Matt did in fact do something horrible''

''yes but then he killed himself afterwards'' Liam said ''I wonder why he killed Mark and that other guy and then killed himself after? I would have assumed he did that to go back to prison so don't know why he killed himself after killing them''

''Maybe he knew he went too far and killed himself over the guilt?'' Callum suggested

No one knew the true, dark, reason why Matthew had killed Mark.Because Mark was dangerous and he did it to stop Mark killing anyone else. But then they didn't know the true, dark, reason why he had killed the second man and then committed suicide either.

Sandra wanted to cheer everyone up as they were too sad after Matthew's death and Christmas was very soon. She wanted everyone to be happy and have a good Christmas

''We must forget the past and look to the future now'' she told the boys

''Yes i agree'' Liam said ''And now we're all very happy here without Sean around. The school is great now and we have a happy future''

''Yes and i intend to be the headteacher for a long time'' Sandra told the boys

Then, just before the school was due to shut for the Christmas break, Mr Douglas from the department arrived at the school looking grim and serious

''Mrs Maxwell i am afraid i have some very bad news for you'' he said to Sandra

At once Sandra was feeling dread. No one wanted anymore bad news now. They had had enough of that. Was someone else dead? She hoped not

''I am afraid Grange Road school will be closing down in the new year'' Douglas said regretfully and Sandra was crushed

''But why is the school closing?'' she said, nearly in tears ''The boys are just starting to recover from the damage Sean caused and we're just starting to make the school a happy place again. Now you say the school has to close and the progress we're finally making will end?''

''The thing is one school in the area has to close sadly and we've decided that Grange Road will be the one''

''Well its awful. Why must we close?''

''Due to budget cuts and so on i'm afraid. The department certainly didn't want to shut this school, or any other school, but we have no choice. The sad fact is we must close one school and we were forced into making a difficult decision that this school would be the one to close''
