Chapter 3 - A Misunderstanding

Gear and Night kept encountering each other from time to time  as Night used to visit Gus frequently for studying together. Their liking for each other was growing.

Gear suddenly started indulging his brother Gus with his favourite foods and taking him out in the parties but mostly the timing was such that Night was accompanying. Gus was also surprised with Gear's new appreciation for his brother but he was able to suspect his motives.

At one eventful party , Gear kept glancing Night as he was looking cute in his hoodie and shorts.  Night also kept peeking in the direction where Gear was drinking along with Itt and Four. 

After the party Itt was more drunk so Four volunteered to drop Itt as all his friends were aware Itt does not travel by taxi. Gus has some argument with Gear when he also decided to follow Four in his car.

Gear took this opportunity and asked Night if he can drop him which Night readily agreed. This is the first time they were alone.  Gear observed the way Night was looking and admiring him in car. He stopped the car at a secluded place and came closer to kiss him which Night did not resist.

After that day, they started messaging and talking to each other without letting their friends know.  Their fondness for each other was turning into love.

One evening , Night visited Gus's house to play video game but only Gear was at home watching movie and he invited Night to sit with him till Gus is back.  Gear put his hand above Night's shoulder and they were sitting very close when one of the steamy scene started playing on television. Gear started touching Night who responded back by kissing him. They were both aroused. Gear carried him to his bedroom and they got more intimate. They removed each other clothes and were at peak of emotions when they head the voice of Itt and Four who entered house and started calling Gear. Gear tried to ignore and continued kissing Night when they heard the voice of Gus talking to Itt and Four. Night got flustered and seeing that Gear stopped . Both were awkward with Night being too shy. Gear did not want to hurt Night or do anything which Night was not ready for.  They both dressed up and came out of room at separate times to avoid any suspicion by their friends.

Night saw Itt and Four and greeted them and went to Gus room as Gus went to his room to take shower. Gus did not suspect anything when he came out and they started playing games.

When Gear came out, Itt  and Four smiled at him as his hair was messy and clothes ruffled. All three of them have been friends since school so know each other very well so both Itt and Four had a feeling something happened. Gear to avoid the discussion started talking about college project. All three started working on project for which they gathered together.

After a while they took break and Itt started talking again  "So you both are really in love" making Gear flustered. 

"See I told you...Have you completed our bet? Itt asked playfully.

"Shut your mouth" Gear shouted.

"So you did with Night, Stereo is yours now" Itt being blabbermouth continued talking on and on which Night happened to listen and was shocked.

He felt so disheartened and ran outside house. Gear noticed and followed him shouting Night's name but he took the cab and went to his home. Gear kept calling Night but he switched off his phone.

Itt apologised for what happened as it was not his intention "Sorry Gear .. I really ..really did not mean that. " Gear was in bad mood and punched Itt . Four tried to mediate between two friends and asked Itt to leave and let Gear calm down. Itt kept apologising and left as Four said.

Four tried to calm Gear stating "You know Itt. He is like that , he just speaks anything but you also know he meant well."

Gear did not react as he was more worried about Night but in his heart he knew Itt was just teasing him.

Night reached home and was almost in tears , seeing Day he went and hug Day and started crying. Day was startled and tried to console him but  kept asking what happened. Night in feeling of revulsion thinking about Itt's words  mumbled while crying about how his friend's brother tricked him for a bet with his friend for a stereo. Night was now confused for his emotions for Gear and while talking to Day he did not take Gear's name but instead his anger was more targeted to Itt.  Day have heard this story about stereo but can't recall so he specifically asked what's the name of the friend and Night without thinking  mentioned as Itt but still Day was not able to recollect.

Day was livid, he really wanted to kill this guy who made his brother cry. Day calmed Night and after he had slept , he went out to a pub and called Neil to talk to vent out .

Itt after leaving Gear's house was disappointed and did not know what to do. He did not want to go to his home so he went to a pub to drink to change his mood.

Itt was sitting on bar drinking beer. Day went to pub and sat next to him without looking at him. He ordered a glass of whiskey and was waiting for Neil. Itt was continuous talking to bartender and making playful remarks about girls sitting on different tables. Nick who was Itt's good friend was bartending that day and he was laughing along as he knew Itt's nature. 

"Stop talking I know you will not even dare to go to one" Nick said teasingly.

"Don't challenge me. It's just I am too lazy" Itt responded making Nick laugh.

 Day turned to see him, disturbed by continuous blabbering but when he saw Itt, he smiled recalling last couple of times. Itt smiled back in drunken state and Day felt he looks cute. Day's phone rang and saw Neil was calling and he went out to take the call.

Itt kept drinking when one guy strong built with tattoos came and started flirting with him. Itt being drunk kept talking to him without thinking anything. The guy sat next to Itt and put his hand on Itt's shoulder which he did not resisted as he was paying no attention to him. 

Itt's mind got distracted thinking about Gear and he turned towards Nick who was making a cocktail " Do you think Gear will forgive me." Nick was busy with customers so did not respond. Day came back to finish his drink after Neil called to tell he is stuck with some work and will not be able to make it.

Day saw a guy very close to Itt and he felt angry seeing that. He gulped his drink in one shot. The guy started coming closer to Itt touching his thigh and suddenly Itt gasped and pushed the guy making the glass in his hand fell.

Nick rushed towards Itt "What happened Itt?" 

"I .. I .. He was ..." Itt started stuttering pointing to that guy when the guy blamed Itt that Itt was flirting with him.

"No I din't..he..." Itt said confused as he was too drunk. Day pitched in "I have been watching. If you don't want this to escalate leave" in stern voice. The guy left as Nick also started taking Itt's side.

Nick thanked Day for helping his friend  and then looked at Itt "You stop drinking and go home"  forbidding him to take any more drink.

"Nick... will Gear and Night forgive me " Itt said in a grim voice and put his head on bar table.

"Itt ..."Nick was about to say when Day asked "What is your name again?" 

Itt raised his head and  looked at Day with puppy eyes " Itt" and smiled and Day was able to connect all dots and suddenly his feeling changed to vengeance.

"Itt how will you go home? My shift is longer I can not drop you .. and cab..." Nick said when Itt interrupted "No I will not take cab" Itt said in stubborn tone.

Nick sighed when his Boss called reprimanding him for leaving work as some customers were waiting.

"Itt  no more drinks . I will take you back when my shift is over " Nick told Itt and handed him water to drink and left to attend customers.

Day was observing Itt and he suddenly developed hatred for Itt . When Nick went away,  Day looked at Itt  "I can drop you at home"

Itt felt good when Day took his side against the guy and developed admiration for Day. He readily agreed to go "Really .. " and smiled at Day.

Day stood and  started leaving and Itt followed without any hesitation. Itt looked around to tell Nick but he didn't see him so left. Day smirked thinking how gullible he is.
