Chapter 6 - Get together bash

2 years later , Gear , Four and Nick have graduated . Night is in his last year of college. Day has accepted Gear and Night relationship who have been together since two years.

Day became regular to Nick's pub and also introduced his friend Neil to Nick.

Neil and Nick are together on and off . Consider their opposite personalities, they tend to fight more leading to multiple breakups but eventually they comeback together.

 Four has confessed to Gus but Gus being a brat have not still accepted Four.  

Day kept himself busy in work else the guilt was killing him. He kept asking Nick about Itt who told him that he has left country but did not tell any details about therapy as he felt it's private matter. 

Gear and Four used to talk about Itt at times and Night overheard  the talk about therapy and once when Day was talking to him casually , Night mentioned about Itt's therapy making Day more guilty.

Day was not sure how Night and his friends will react when they get to know what he did. 

It was Night's birthday and Gear threw grand party inviting his and Night's friends in a newly opened terrace pub which was on Bangkok one of the tallest building.

Day was sitting in the corner with Neil and Fu.  Gus , Night , Knot,  Nick , Four were dancing. Gear went downstairs to get one of his friend.

Gear entered with a friend who has good physique and dressed in formal suit looked like he was directly coming from work as he had briefcase in his hand. All the girls in party turned to look at him. He was shy and looked down to avoid people's gaze. Gear took him to a  seat which was far from all noise. He sat looking outside with his back to the crowd.

"What do you want to drink?" Gear asked

" Beer will do" 

Gear went to the bar to get beer and brought to him. Gear left to call Nick and Four. 

Day  glanced at the figure but continued drinking with Neil and Fu. Night , Gus and Knot tired after dancing came to sit at adjacent table to Day.

Nick and Four rushed to him . The seat was far away and no one can listen anything but were able to see Gear ,Nick and Four's enthusiasm. They all were embracing him one after another.

"With whom P'Gear is talking?" Night  spoke loudly and his and Day's table looked in that direction.

"Might be P'Itt ....He retuned from States two weeks back."  Gus said without thinking making Day's eyes widen to see clearly.

"You guys party. I will just sit here for a while and leave after drinking beer" Itt said.

Gear , Four and Nick looked at each other finding it strange.

"We have met after long time. We have so much to talk"  Nick said

"I do not like parties." Itt said

"What? " All three said in unison stupefied by the revelation.

"We can meet some other day. I just came to stop by for a while as Gear asked" Itt said

"Itt you have changed a lot" Nick said And Itt just smiled.

They sat for sometime but Itt was mostly silent and only responded when someone ask him anything.

It was cake cutting time and Gus went to call them.He greeted Itt who just smiled. All got up  but Gear asked Itt to sit there . Four and Nick looked towards Gear who gestured he will tell them later. Gear had a conversation with Itt's father about his condition before calling him to party and figured out he is much better but has not healed completely. He likes to stay away from crowd but Itt agreed to come on Gear's insistence. Itt still have fear of taxis and now he also has Xenophobia i.e. he gets distressed around strangers. 

They all went to cake cutting ceremony while Day's eyes were on Itt who was sipping beer and looking towards sky.  Night cut the cake and  all sang Birthday song. After a while everyone got busy eating cake and dancing when Day went towards Itt , his heart was beating fast . He did not know what he will do when he face him but he wanted to see him, see his face.

Day strolled towards the area where Itt was sitting and stood against the wall at the corner. He lit cigarette and watched Itt, who looked very different from when he saw before. He is calm with sadness in his eyes compared to mischievous glint before. His face still looks cute and innocent but with his medium length wavy hair side parted groomed like a business person made him look more handsome. Though he seemed to have lost weight from before but his business formals complemented his lean figure making him stand out from the crowd.

Night and Gus came with cake as Gus knew Itt loves cake "P'Itt  I missed you... I got your favourite" Gus said with full smile and handing over the plate to Itt  with enthusiasm. 

Itt stood up and smiled hesitantly "I don't eat cake anymore"  . Gus was shocked as he has seen Itt finishing his birthday cake too as a kid and he used to fight with him a lot "Now who will finished my birthday cake?" Gus said pouting. To which Itt just smiled and turned towards Night and extended his hand to wish him "Happy Birthday .. and .....sorry for that time... I.. I didn't mean" and he looked down. 

Night immediately shook his head.. "No .. I am sorry for misunderstanding you " . Gear saw Itt and Night together and rushed towards them. 

"You guys go and celebrate" Gear said looking at Gus and Night and interrupting their conversation.

 Gear looked at  Itt "You ok?"  as he felt it would be awkward for Itt and Night as they did not speak on that topic ever.

Itt nodded "I will leave . Have a meeting early morning" and picked his bag to leave. He was bit fiddly and did not want to stay longer

"Wait I will drop you." Gear said as he could sense Itt was uncomfortable.

"No you should stay here with Night. I just had one beer and can drive" Itt said and left trying to avoid crowd.  Day observed Itt throughout from corner. He did not have courage to come near him. 

Gear looked at him with concern and went back to his friends. Nick and Four felt bad they did not say good bye to Itt before leaving. Day returned to Neil and Fu . 

Fu had some work so he left along with Knot.

After a while all guests left and only close group of Gear, Nick , Four, Night, Gus, Day and Neil were sitting and drinking.

"P'Gear .. What happened to P'Itt he used to always laugh and talk. He is so serious now." Gus said 

"I agree Itt looks like a different person" Nick added

Day was listening to them. He hardly had two interactions before that worst night which changed everything for Itt;  but his outgoing cheerful personality did not go unnoticed for anyone who met Itt earlier including Day .

" Gear , you and Night are together because of him" Four mentioned as he recalled how Itt should to provoke Gear to talk to Night.  Night listened with surprise.

Gear could see Night's expressions "Don't take it wrong ,not because of that misunderstanding. He was the one who kept telling me I am in love with you which I was not accepting as you were Gus's friend" 

"He is such a blabbermouth that it's easy to misunderstand him but deep down he is very sensitive person" Nick said.

"He was a blabbermouth. Now he hardly speak" Gear added in low voice thinking about Itt.

They all kept drinking and started sharing incidents where Itt brought them in trouble and all were laughing.

"If it was before , Night you would have not be able to eat your own birthday cake" Gus added making others laugh out loud.

"That he wil even do now if he would have stayed" Four added

"No he said , he do not eat cake anymore" Gus responded surprising everyone who knew Itt's love for cake.

Day was listening keenly as he wanted to know everything about Itt now.

Nick was drunk  and Gus was feeling sleepy so all decided to leave. Neil dragged Nick to the car and Four carried Gus. Night left with Gear while Day drove back alone thinking about Itt.
