Day Itt GENESIS

Chapter 51

"Sit in the car. We don't have time." Gear spoke and Day followed and sat next to him in the passenger seat immediately understanding the situation.

Night insisted on coming along and both Gear and Day agreed. Night locked the gate and sat in the rear seat.

Gear drove fast and asked Day in anger without looking at him " Are you behind the accident?"

Day was taken aback but he kind of understood what Gear is hinting "The driver's?"

Gear stared at him and turned to look ahead at the road.

"No " Day said in the assertive manner but Gear still had his doubts and looked at Day with suspicion.

"I really wanted to...." Day spoke but paused knowing  Night is in the car as well " But No it happened before I reached there. "

"Police arrested Itt " Gear spoke.

Day was shocked "For the accident?"

"Driver gave the statement involving Itt" Gear added.

Day was silent and then asked " What was the call about?"

"Itt passed out.. The constable I asked to keep me posted about Itt told" Gear responded.

"That may be ...as P'Itt  might be stressed and did not take medicine and food" Night spoke.

"Drive fast" Day yelled.

Gear was already driving above speed limit but still accelerated and they reached the police station in no time.

Day and Gear rushed inside only to find Itt has been released.

They should be thankful but both panicked and asked in unison"Where is he?"

"He left with guy who withdrew the complaint" The officer mentioned.

"What?" Day and Gear again yelled in unison only to look at each other awkwardly.

Day thumped the desk "Who ? " when Gear tried to cover Day's voice as officer was about to retaliate " Sir can you tell us who withdrew complaint?"

Officer stared at Day but calmed with Gear's way of asking " Mr Pete sent his lawyer and withdrew complaint stating there was some misunderstanding."

"How can you let Itt go with him?" Day yelled again.

The officer stretched his hand to hold Day's collar in anger when Gear interfered " Sorry officer. It's just Itt was not well so my friend is worried." The officer nodded and let them go as Gear dragged Day out holding his arm. Outside the police station, Gear called the constable and asked more details. 

The constable told that Itt was fine after drinking water and he left after he was released. Day aggressively questioned if he went with that lawyer, the constable was not sure and told they left the station at the same time but probably went separate.  None had any clue about Itt's past so both officer and constable rather found Day and Gear's behaviour strange considering Itt was released from jail.

They both returned to the car and as they sat , Day murmured "It's a trap." Gear looked at Day "May be we are overthinking."

Itt did not have his phone so none had any idea where to start looking for Itt. Night told let's go back home and see if Itt is back.

They all were silent throughout the way.

As they reached home, and were about to step out. Gear received call from Itt's father which he took on speaker. His father told him Itt is at home.

Listening same they all took sigh of relief and Gear turned the car immediately towards Itt's home.

"Thank God!" Gear spoke knowing Itt is safe and looked at Day "May be Pete is not bad as we thought"

Day nodded but he was not convinced.

"By the way what happened to you? " Gear asked and Night also added "Hia you bleeding, should we go to doctor"

Day shook his head "It's just a scratch. Let's first see Itt."

Gear asked Night to give Day his jacket which was at back seat as Day's jacket was torned.

When they reached home, the door was open and they could hear voices of Itt's parents talking and laughing and even Itt's voice was perky though none of them could hear exact words but that made them relax thinking the atmosphere is better and not predicated by the incident.

As they entered, Day was shock to see Itt and Pete sitting close to each other.  Itt's mother offering water to both of them. 

Gear had not met Pete so he did not have any clue so both Gear and Night went in and sat on opposite couch while Day stood at door.

Itt's father saw Day "Come in why are you standing there?"

Pete looked at Day and smirked and took glass from Itt's hand and kept back at table.

Day entered and sat next to Gear as that was the only vacant space . He did not speak a word but kept looking at Itt.

"You ok" Gear asked as Itt was also staring at Day with strange expressions which Day was unable to read into.

Itt nodded and smiled at Pete "Thanks to him."

Gear looked at Pete "Thanks for helping my friend"

"No I could have prevented it and Itt shouldn't have gone through all this" Pete spoke "I will ensure to punish my driver "

"Your driver?" Gear asked as Itt's expression changed which all in room noticed.

Pete held Itt's hand comforting him " Don't worry as I told you I will take care of it" and Itt nodded.

Gear and Night looked at Day who was really controlling his anger.

"You were in accident too?" Day enquired looking at Pete.

"Yes Mr Day  as you can see" Pete smiled and stretched his foot which was plastered. Day stared at Pete who smiled slightly.

"Ok I will take your leave" Pete got up with some difficulty as Itt's parents thanked him again and even Itt got up "I will see you off"

"No you should rest" Pete spoke in soft tone but Itt insisted as Pete came to help him inspite of being hurt.

Day and Gear also stood up to go along but Itt told them to sit as he wanted to talk something with Pete.  Day and Gear found it strange but did not counter Itt.

Itt came back after 10 minutes and Day was tensed throughout and fidgeting. Once Itt returned, Day got up to talk to Itt who stated he wanted to go to his room and rest. He looked at Gear and thanked him in a very formal tone and then asked them to return as it's late . He avoided talking to Day completely.

Gear handed Itt his medicines and awkwardly looked at Day and asked him if he is leaving along with them.

Day looked at Itt "Are you fine?"

"I am tired. You can leave. It's late." Itt spoke harshly and headed towards his room.

Day continued looking Itt's back.

Itt's mother pitched in "May be he is drained because of the incident" to cover up Itt's behaviour.

"Yes too much happened" Gear added "Let's go. You should rest too."
