Day Itt GENESIS

Chapter 50

Itt ran to open the door.

There was a police officer standing on the door making Itt step back.He started shaking in fear not understanding what was going on when Gear came forward putting Itt behind.

The police officer asked in a very commanding voice about Itt.

Itt took one step .."Uh. I. I am.."

Gear interrupted "Sir may I know why are you looking for Itt"

"He has been charged with attempted murder" The officer said.

"What?" Gear and Night exclaimed.

Itt was in shock. His eyes widened as he clutched Gear's arm.

"That's not possible." Gear added and asked whose murder and even told that Itt has been home.

The officer told that he has been suspect in Pete and his driver's accident. Gear tried to explain a lot that Itt has no connection and that it is false charge . But the officer held Itt's hand to drag to the police van when Gear intervened again but officer stressed that he has to come to police station.

Gear then looked at Itt who was in shock. Gear tapped Itt's cheek "Don't worry I am coming along in the car behind. I will get lawyer"

Itt was not reacting , when Gear tapped his cheek lightly again "Itt .. Itt are you listening"

Itt looked at Gear confused "I.. Gear .. I not.."

Gear rubbed Itt's back " Nothing will happen.  Just go with them. I am coming behind you. Ok"

"OK?" Gear asked again when Itt nodded with tears filling his eyes. 

Itt went in police van and Gear asked Night to get car keys quickly. He asked Night to stay at home and try to contact Day as he went behind Itt.

In the car, Gear tried to contact Itt's father but was unable to get through. He then called Four and asked him to get a lawyer quickly and told him about incident.

Itt was clenching his fist and trying to control his tears. He was not understanding what is happening and that too because of the person he hated most.

Night was continuously calling Day but no luck.

At police station, when Gear pushed them to tell how Itt is a suspect then the officer told the driver who met with accident gave a statement and took Itt's name that Itt is behind the accident.

Itt was put behind the bars inspite of Gear's requests and negotiations to hold till the lawyer arrive. Itt was silent throughout making Gear more worried.

Four arrived with lawyer but only to encounter another hurdle that Itt can't get a bail as it was a weekend and also the officer told they can't leave him as it was murder charges . Gear and Four tried to convince officer a lot but to no avail.

Gear and Four went on calling spree, they called everyone they thought could help. Some were not available over phone so Four left stating he will try to meet in person. They also asked their parents to help. Finally Itt's father called back and on listening about the incident, he rushed back to the town. They all tried this contacts but it only ended in disappointments.

Gear asked officer to let him meet Itt, but he was denied. This made him really worried about Itt as he just was out of hospital. He however bribed one constable and told him to call him if anything happens.

Dejected, he returned home , hoping to find Day. His mind was full of questions if Day is involved.

Gear reached home only to find Night pacing outside with phone in hand. 

"Day has not returned yet?" Gear asked in low voice and Night shook his head.

"What about P'Itt?" Night asked but Gear did not respond "Let's go inside."

Gear sat on the couch tired with hand on his head as Night got water for him. Gear murmured "It's a mess." The more and more he was thinking and trying to connect dots on how Day was reacting in hospital and how he was behaving yesterday, everything was pointing towards Day.

Itt was sitting at the corner on the floor, all curled up not understanding what was going on. He was not feeling anything at the moment and moreover he was too tired to think anything. 

"Gear.." Night shouted "P'Itt's medicine" as he recalled.

Gear stood up immediately "Pack it and some food too.. Quick" and then he mumbled " How did I forget.. I should have taken before. It's already late"

"I will come with you" Night said.

"No wait and call me immediately if Day returns" Gear said in little angry tone.

Night did not argue as he knew Gear was worried and stressed. Itt's father called Gear that they will reach in few hours and to ask if anything progressed. Four also called as he was trying to meet some influential people but there was no positive news yet.

Night handed him food and medicine in a bag and Gear took the car keys and headed outside when he saw Day opening the gate and entering.

Gear charged towards Day and punched him " What have you done bastard?...You dragged my friend into this mess."

Night was shocked and Day's expressions turned from anger who was about to return the punch to panic when he heard "dragged my friend.."

"What happened to Itt?.. Where is he?" Day asked curiously as he tried to enter the house to look for Itt.

Day's  appearance was dishevelled and his right hand knuckles bleeding with torn jacket.

Night noticed "P'Day what happened to you? You are bleeding.."

However Gear was more frustrated and he landed one more punch "Really now you are asking about Itt after putting him into this situation"

Day almost fell on ground when Night supported and shouted at Gear "What did P'day do. Gear stop taking your anger on P'Day" Night was totally unaware why Gear was taking out on Day.

Day stood back  controlling his temper and looked at Gear "Please tell what happened to Itt" when Gear received a call.

Gear picked the call "What.. I am .. I will be there in 15 minutes"

"What happened? Night asked seeing Gear's expressions.

"Itt..."  Gear's voice was feeble  as he sat in car and then checked the bag which Night handed. "Did you put all his medicine?" Gear asked looking at Night when Day held Gear's collar and yelled "Will you tell me clearly what happened to Itt?"
