Day Itt GENESIS

Chapter 5 - Rock Bottom

Few days passed , Itt have stopped going to college. He stayed at home and in his room. His parents were worried and tried to talk to him but he has become too silent. He has not spoken about that incident to anyone.  When his parents were back that night, he covered by saying he had small fight at college as his bruises were visible. He was stubborn to not go to doctor which his parents kept on insisting. They have to even force him to eat food and take regular medicines.

It took him to a week to recover physically but his mental state became worse. After the taxi driver incident in his high school where he was almost assaulted, this incident broke him completely making him fall in depression. 

Itt's parents did not understand what was happening to him and worried his father took him for therapy forcefully  but Itt did not speak at all infront of therapist. Doctor told they cannot help unless he will willing to speak up.

Itt's mother kept crying seeing his son's condition who have stopped interacting with anyone. Itt's father who always complained as Itt was a naughty child wanted to see him back to his usual. He always felt he and his wife played a role in spoiling him their only child so he started being strict with him to make him responsible. 

Gear and Four went to college as usual but did not see Itt. Gear did not contact Itt as he was still blaming Itt for his fallout with Night whom he is still not able to contact. Though he was concerned about his friend and tried to ask indirectly to Four by referring some project or work related to Itt. Four tried calling Itt but he did not pick the call. 

Nick called Itt after couple of days of him dropping him at home but Itt told he is sick and will be resting at home for few days. Nick realised Itt did not want to talk and did not pressurised him. 

Day was not feeling good about what he had done but was trying to justify his action by thinking he did for Night.  He has opened one salon in Bangkok too and started shuffling between Kanchnaburi and Bangkok frequently. He got occupied with work or he pushed himself to work to avoid thinking about Itt as what he did was haunting him.

Night was going  to college as usual but avoided seeing Gear.   He was still friends with Gus but have warned Gus to not speak about his brother with him. Day started dropping and picking him up from college. Gear tried talking to Night but Gus blocked him and Night did not show any interest though deep down he still liked Gear. Day kept asking Night  from time to time  if anyone was bothering him in college. Night always declined saying all going smooth.

 Day once brought up "What about that guy Itt" . Night looked at Day wondering why he asked but recalled he only told him. 

"I have not seen him in college since long" Night responded without thinking anything. 

"What?  he has not come to college?" Day asked loudly . 

Night got little confused why Day is interested but just told "I do not know we are in different years and I do not interact with that group anymore"  Day just nodded listening same thinking he should be fine by now.

It's almost a month, Itt's parents were worried seeing no change in Itt's condition.

Itt used to just sleep and look outside window. His mother used to forcefully make him eat. Itt has not stepped outside house at all in a month.

His friends found it strange  and were concerned about Itt now. They heard no news about him at all. Gear have started asking Four directly about Itt and both wondered why Itt stopped coming to college. However Gear's ego did not allow him to call Itt but even Four's calls were unanswered.

One evening, after college ,Night was waiting for Day to pick him up.  Gear was watching him from far sitting in his car. Finally he took courage and approached Night. He held his arm and pulled him towards his car which Night kept resisting but Gear was stronger than Night and made him sit in the car. He locked the car preventing Night to come out of car. He drove to a place outside college where no one can see them and parked it. "Let me go" Night shouted. 

Gear held Night's hand and with shaky voice "Night... Night  I really love you . It's just misunderstanding. I did not do anything to hurt you. I never even thought of hurting you."  and tears started falling from his eyes.  Gear who always come across as very strong person, Night was shocked to see Gear react like that.

"I am going crazy without you. That day it was just my friend was teasing me as he knew I like you. It was nothing, why you are avoiding me" Gear said in series of sentences. Night was also missing Gear like anything and he melted listening to Gear. Tears started dropping from his eyes. They both spoke for sometime and cleared their misunderstandings.  Night's phone rang and he got scared when he saw Day calling. Gear saw Night's expressions and name on phone screen and understood his brother is calling.

"Don't worry we are not far from college , I will drop you. Pick the call. Just tell him you went inside college" Gear said and Night did same. Gear dropped him back from different gate and Day did not suspect anything.

Few Days passed and now Gear and Night have again started messaging and calling each other. They started meeting in college too and having lunch together with Four and Gus also along.

While having lunch , the table was quiet for some time " P'Gear I have not seen P'Itt since many days. When he used to be there it was always fun and there was not a moment of silence" Gus asked Gear. 

Gear frowned and looked at Four and said in concerned manner "Yes. We also don't know why he is not coming to college" Night also recalled Itt used to talk and tease everyone on table.

After college ,Gear called Itt but his phone was switched off. He thought of calling him after sometime. Gear and Four were leaving college for home when Nick passed them. Nick was in different department so they rarely meet each other in college. Gear ran and called Nick, followed by Four. They all exchanged greetings then Gear asked Nick about Itt. Nick made a gloomy face and then asked them to go to cafe and talk. They all sat and then Nick told the whole incident and how after that day he is not in touch with Itt. Gear and Four were shocked to hear same. Gear specifically asked which date it was and realised it was same day when he had a fight with Itt. They all decided to visit Itt's home.

Night was usually looking happy these days and Day observed same. Day tried to ask Night and Night did not want to hide from Day told "P'Day I am back to friends with Gus and his brother. There was  some misunderstanding and we have cleared now" he said enthusiastically.

"What misunderstanding" Day asked in shock.

"Yes it was just they were teasing among friends.  P'Gear didn't do anything" Night told Day.

Day was not sure how to react "And what about that Itt?"

"Don't know he stopped coming college. But he is not a bad guy, P'Gear and Gus told he just talks too much. Also I realised thinking back it was always fun when he used to have lunch with us" Night said as he thought.

Day was dumbfounded and feeling guilty on what he had done. He did not speak further on that topic and left. He went to same pub where he met Itt. He saw Nick bartending who came to serve Day. Nick still recalled Day as the guy who tried to protect Itt that evening and greeted Day with a smile. Day greeted back and asked "How is your friend?" Nick made sad expression and told "Don't know . He is not in touch" and started serving other customers. 

Gear  , Four and Nick visited Itt's house . Itt's mother came out whom everyone greeted by raising hands.  She welcomed them inside and asked housekeeper to brings snacks and drinks.  She knew everyone as all three were Itt's childhood friends and used to visit him very often.

"Ma..Where is Itt?" Gear asked.

Itt's mother was almost in tears "His father has taken him to USA for therapy as he has been struggling with depression for a while"

"What?" All three asked in unison when Itt's mother told about Itt that he had stopped talking or going out at all. They were all shocked and were feeling guilty . Itt mother was crying and they tried to console her.

They all returned back blaming themselves for not being there with his friend when he needed.
