Kate's birthday was coming up and because Jessica had sprained her shoulder and was out for three weeks, she had nothing better to do than to plan a super big birthday bash. Things would work out because their next game would be at home against the Sky. Jessica was sick at the fact that she wouldn't be able to play in the game, but the fact that they'd be in Vegas made it easier to plan a surprise party.

Jessica plops down on the ground beside A'ja who was stretching. A'ja is alarmed by the movement.

"Jessica!" A'ja says, "You can't be moving your shoulder like that!"

"I'm fine," Jessica responds, "And it's just a sprain, it's not the end of the world."

"Still don't aggravate it anymore, we need you for the Commissioner's Cup," A'ja says.

Jessica pouts as she looks at A'ja, "You need me?"

A'ja rolls her eyes, "Don't make it a big deal."

"I'm making it a big deal," Jessica says smiling, "Three-time MVP A'ja Wilson just said that she needs little ole me. I'm gonna tell Syd, Sydney-"

A'ja places her hand over Jessica's mouth just as Sydney looks up. A'ja smiles and shakes her head as she waves dismissively at Sydney.

"Mention that and I will have you traded to the Fever," A'ja says as she moves her hand from Jessica's mouth.

"Personally, I think I could take the Fever to a championship," Jessica jokes.

"You and your bestie," A'ja teases.

Jessica laughs dryly and is quickly ready to change the subject, "So as you know June 5th is rapidly approaching."

"Yes, National Kate Martin Day," A'ja says.

"I was thinking we should throw her a surprise party," Jessica suggests.

"That sounds fun, what do you need me to do?"

"Book a venue please," Jessica says, "And maybe find entertainment."

"Strippers?" A'ja asks.

"Women? Or men?" Jessica asks.

"Both," A'ja says, "Men as a joke, and then we'll let Kate get some lady action."

Jessica's brows furrow at the second part of the suggestion but she agrees nonetheless, "Okay that sounds perfect. Do you think Kate will hate it? She's not really big into being the center of attention."

"We'll keep it small," A'ja says.

"Okay," Jessica says with a smile.

"Jessica!" Becky exclaims.

"Uh oh," A'ja says with a smirk, "What did you do?"

"I'm not sure," Jessica says as she gets to her feet and makes her way over to Becky who was standing at the center of the gym.

"Good morning," Becky greets.

"Good morning," Jessica says skeptically.

Becky laughs, "You can relax Jessica, you're not in trouble."

"Oh," Jessica says as she relaxes a little bit more, "Um what's up?"

"Just a moment," Becky says, "Everyone gather around!"

The team comes and gathers at center court along with the coaching staff. Jessica is standing beside Becky and looks at her as she holds up a piece of paper.

"I have some news that is completely unsurprising but either way it's a reason for celebration," Becky says before flipping the paper over. Jessica squints and leans close as she reads the headline.
