AN: So I know this is like 20 years late, but like I rewrote it a couple times. Wanted to modernize it a little bit. But yeah. I genuinely think this might be my favorite alt ending just because Jess and Kate are so soft. So we have one more ending left, the one and only Paige Bueckers. Now listen if you're reading Double Team, just know that the Overtime alt ending version of Jess and Paige are different; they're more mature, and I can finally give you guys the true ending to Overtime that I always wanted. (Because let's be real. Paige or Jackie were the real endgames)

Anyway, enjoy Kate and Jess and the fluffiest thing ever.

"Don't you just love weddings?" Vanessa asks Jessica as they stand side by side at the reception of Melody and Michael's wedding. The couple was sharing their first dance. Jessica found it to be amusing since the song was Crazier by Taylor Swift and was from the Hannah Montana soundtrack.

"Yeah, they're great," Jessica says as she takes a sip of her champagne. Melody and Michael are talking to each other as they dance, and Michael says something that makes Melody laugh as he picks her up and spins her around just like the lyrics in the song.

Jessica looks over at Kate who was sitting at a table with her parents and was nodding her head to the music. She smiles at the sight and sighs as she looks down at her champagne glass.

"What would your first dance be to?" Jessica asks Vanessa.

"Probably an Ed Sheeran song," Vanessa answers, "Or something from like the sixties."

"You're mine and we belong together," Jessica states and Vanessa snorts.

"Or I only have eyes for you," Vanessa says.

"It should be a game. Love song or a message from a stalker," Jessica says, and Vanessa laughs softly.

Vanessa nudges Jessica's shoulder, "So why are you standing back here?"

"I needed more champagne," Jessica says, "And I'm jealous. I love Melody and now I'm losing her to Michael."

"To be fair you lost her to Michael like ten years ago," Vanessa says.

"I guess but now it's real. Like that's her husband and they're going to have babies," Jessica mutters.

"Guess you'll just have to make Melody jealous by getting married and having a baby too," Vanessa responds.

Jessica frowns, "Ew gross, I'm only 24, Van."

"That's an adult, Jess."

Jessica shakes her head, "No I'm still a teen."

"Sure," Vanessa responds.

The first dance comes to an end, and everyone takes to the dancefloor as the next song to play is Birds of a Feather by Billie Eilish. Melody's eyes find Jessica and she quickly waves her over. Jessica smiles as she skips onto the dance floor over to Melody.

"Birds of a feather we should stick together!" Jessica and Melody sing to each other as they take each other's hand and Jessica twirls Melody under her arm before Melody spins her as well. The two of them jump up and down as they sing, "I'll love you till the day that I die!"

The two of them giggle as they dance together.

"I'm gonna miss you, Mel," Jessica says.

"Miss me?" Melody asks, "Girl we live on two different coasts, you always miss me."

Jessica laughs, "No this is different. You're like being an adult and shit. And I know Michael is an amazing guy and he's going to treat you right, but I feel like I'm losing you."
