In-between Chapters 5 And 6: A Good Father

"Hey y/n..." Eli rubbed his neck, "long time no see..." y/n didn't respond; he turned back to the sink washing his face again. "You did great out there..." he was yet again ignored. 

"Y/n—"

The said boy turned and walked to Eli, "Y/n—" before the taller could say anything else, he was punched in the face. Blood bursted out of his nose. The Night Raven student walked off without even another glance the now bleeding boy's way.

"Y/n!!" The blonde man ran after the h/c'ed, grabbing the smaller's hand, "Listen. I know you're pissed—" the hand was ripped from the ladder's grip. 

"No. I'm leaving you behind. I'm leaving all of you, and all you stand for behind." The grip he had on the taller's wrist tightened, "I cannot do this again. You cannot do this to me again."

He let go of the other's hand, "Go home. I don't even know how you got here, but just... get away from me." However Eli didn't back down, "I can't!" He ran after the Savanaclaw first year. Grabbing his hand again; "I understand you're trying to restart, but I need to say something." 

Y/n gritted his teeth, "I don't give a shit what you have to say. You can say anything—"

"It's about Salias."

"Where'd y/n go?" Jack asked scanning the stage for his short/tall dorm mate. "Slithered off again..." Leona rolled his eyes, "Let's go find em" Ruggie said, Jack nodded. "See ya."

Ruggie and Leona walked off leaving Jack to watch the rest of the show. 

"Y/n?" Ruggie turned a corner seeing y/n whipping his forehead with the back of his hand. "Ruggie?" The hyaena walked over, "There ya are we were lookin for—"

Ruggie stopped in his tacks looking at the form at y/n's feet, "Wha—"

"I'm sorry... I lost myself." Y/n looked at the mess at his feet, "I'm sorry, I'll clean this up..." Ruggie gulped, staring at his underclassmen's bloody hands. 

Eli finally got up having heard enough. He grabbed y/n by the shoulder's "I know you don't wanna hear it—"

Y/n slapped him away, "Then shut up. I'm not helping." Ruggie grabbed Eli's wrist before he could grab y/n again. 

"Don't grab him." He hissed.

Y/n took Ruggie's other hand, "I hope he gets better." Saying that he dragged Ruggie off.

"What happened to you?" Y/n stopped turning, "What?"

"You used to be human. What happened?" Y/n turned back: "You did."

"Who was that?" Y/n stared forward, "I don't wanna talk about it..." Ruggie looked at their hands thinking. "You did." He remembered him saying; he had never heard y/n like that.

"There ya are." Leona walked over to them, y/n let go of Ruggie. "Sorry about that." He rubbed his neck, "I got a little nervous back there."

Leona huffed, "Can't blame ya for wanting to get outta there. It was so boring." He rolled his eyes. "Yeah ya really didn't miss anything." Ruggie added. 

Y/n looked down nodding, "I wasn't bored... I was just—..." he cleared his throat. "I'm glad I didn't miss anything. My apologies again." Leona waved him off.

Y/n didn't sleep well. He never slept well. He hadn't slept well in years.
