Halls of agony

The day was a complete blank only remembering the two hours you spent in bed crying before stripping down to your underwear before sitting in the tub as it filled with cold water. Life has gone to shit over the past six weeks from you and your longtime boyfriend Malakai breaking up to your job taking a toll on your physical health everything went from bad to worse, you tried everything to remain positive and get through everything but after the fourth week hit you couldn't keep your head high with a smile anymore trying to say and think everything's okay when the world was throwing and kicking you around without a second thought as depression sinked in and the weight of the world crushed you as you came back from your thoughts to see the moving ceiling as you're wheeled into the hospital. Malakai ran to your nephew in the parking lot after finding out on his plane that you were in the hospital leading him to rush to the hospital hoping that you were okay, he finds you with a blanket expression as you turn to see him in the doorway making tears flow down your face in relief and despair while grabbing and holding your hand sitting next to you not expecting him to caress your face while wiping the tears away feeling a flutter run through you that you hadn't felt since the last night you and malakai were together before breaking up later the next evening after his hectic schedule on the road pulled the two of you apart especially over the last two and a half months, "You are not alone in this" you softly cry as he pulls you into his arms melting into the comfort and the warmth that enveloped you in a blanket of safety and love. He kisses your temple before your foreheads are pressed together in the calm silence of the empty room with just the two of you, "I'm not going anywhere, not now or ever" more tenderness is shared as the two of you are locked in a series of paused kisses before your head was tucked in the crook of his neck after quiet apologies were shared between each other feeling a new sense of peace wash over you for the first time in the past month sleeping that night in the hospital after not sleeping at all over the past five weeks with malakai holding you in his arms.
