Even When I Mess Up

Mizuko had finally arrived to the anteroom with the other students who passed the exam. Mizuko felt like a zombie walking over and felt like her body was moving without her thinking. She felt like she was slowly losing control of her own body as she felt the hatred in her heart grow after battling her high school bully, Minagawa Hebiko. She kept trying to suppress the feeling because she's moved on from that part of her life but something kept forcing her to think of it. She had both of her hands on the side of her head as she tried to stop thinking like this.

"Mizuko. I'm glad we both kept our promise to make it to the next round." She heard her favorite deep voice behind her.

"Shoto..." She turned around and as soon as she looked into his heterochromatic eyes, she felt the darkness that had a hold on her go away.

She stumbled on her feet as she felt dizzy and confused. She felt like she was in total control of her body now. Shoto held his arms out to catch her but thankfully she didn't fall.

"Mizuko! Are you okay? Did you have a rough time? I'll go and grab you some water and something to eat. I'm sure you used a lot of your quirk." Shoto didn't even let her answer as he walked over to the area serving food and drink.

Mizuko stared off in the distance of her boyfriend.

Shoto, I wish that was it. Was that All For One's voice I heard in my head? Was he the one making me feel all that hatred in my heart? No, it couldn't be. He's locked away in Tartarus.

She shook her in desperation. She thought she was just exhausted from all her training. That had to be it.

"Mizuko!" She was broken from her trance by hearing a cheerful Deku.

She smiled and waved, "Deku! Oh and the rest of Class A except Bakugo's team! I'm glad we all passed!" She hid her fears behind her smile. Everything was fine.

Deku ran up to her and gave her a high five. The rest of Class A minus Kirishima, Kaminari, and Bakugo joined in.

"I'm assuming Todoroki passed?" Sero questioned.

As if on cue, Shoto had just came back from food and beverage area to join. He came right back to Mizuko and handed her a cold bottle of water and a red apple.

"I did." He answered simply.

Mina saw this interaction and whined, "No fair! Why can't I get a guy to love me like that?" Mizuko and Shoto awkwardly laughed to get out of that situation. They didn't know how to answer that. Mineta tried offering his hand but he quickly received a kick to the face from Mina.

Mizuko and Shoto stepped away from the madness of their class and sat privately. Mizuko opened the bottle of water and drank from it. While drinking, she started playing with the cap in her hand. She was fidgeting because she was nervous about what Shoto would say about what happened.

She put the drink down from her lips and asked, "How did it go for you out there?" She tried deflecting.

Shoto was too smart for that. "It was fine since I'm here now. Now, how are you feeling now that you have some water in you?"

Mizuko glanced down at the cap in her hand and squeezed it. She couldn't lie to Shoto. "Shoto. When I was out there, I faced one of my middle school bullies. I hated seeing her and what she did to me. I was getting ready to move on from the past since I have so much love from you, Aizawa, and the rest of the class but something strange happened..."

Shoto put his hand on her thigh and started squeezing it to show he was there and listening intently to her words.

"What happened?" He asked.
