Hawks looked down at Mizuko's cold and almost lifeless body in his lap and saw it was now being wrapped in a warm golden light as Eri was hugging her. He was shocked when he saw the bruise on her cheek go away and the blood on her one arm was going away. Was Eri actually saving Mizuko's life?!

Hawks noticed that Eri's horn was glowing gold and that must've been the source of her power.

"Eri! Stop doing that. Leave that monster to die!" Overhaul screamed as he went to send more spikes at them.

As the spikes were coming towards them, the ceiling started collapsing and it stopped the attack coming towards them. Hawks saw it was Ryuku and her agency falling through the ceiling. He quickly threw his body over Mizuko and hovered over her and Eri. Eri was then knocked off Mizuko's body. Hawks looked up and saw that Ryuku's fall actually created an escape to the surface. Talk about luck.

Hawks sent his fierce wings to attack Overhaul to slow him down. The wings hit him and drove him further back.

"I don't know what you're talking about, Chisaki. Shirakumo Mizuko is no monster. She's just a scared kid trying to help another scared kid. I won't let you kill her or hurt anyone else!" Hawks yelled as his fierce wings kept hitting Overhaul.

Hawks thought that there was no way this girl was that human Nomu monster the president was trying to find out about. She loved and cared so deeply for people. Hell, she was a girl in love. She fought so hard to protect Eri. No way a monster would do that. He knew he would feel the president's wrath later when he would report to her about his lack of information, his first mission failure.

However, his mission failing didn't matter anymore. All he thought was that he needed to keep this girl alive. Hawks didn't think he would grow this fond of the girl that he met in that back alley.

Eri then gasped as she felt a hand grab onto her arm. She shuttered and jumped only to be shocked when she saw Mizuko holding onto her.

"Mizu?! You're alive?!" She cried with her horn still glowing.

Hawks turned to face her as Deku now decided to face Overhaul. He could see that she was using all her strength to barely keep her eyes open and moving her arm. Eri was even more stunned to see that Mizuko grabbed her with her broken wrist. She didn't seem to be in pain anymore.

"Eri... you saved my life with your quirk. You're not a cursed child. You're a hero. You're my hero.." Mizuko said weakly.

Eri's tears began to stream down her face as the whole building was collapsing. For once she didn't feel like a burden, she actually used her quirk to help someone. Eri saved a life, Mizuko's life.

The ground began distorting as Overhaul began fighting with Deku. The ground where Eri stood was rising to the surface, taking her far away from Hawks and Mizuko. Eri cried out reaching her hand out for Mizuko but Mizuko was too weak to reach her hand out. Hawks then held Mizuko tightly against his chest as the rubble began falling all around them. Hawks knew they had to escape. He used to wings and he was flying up to the surface at the same time Uraravity was floating up Sir Nighteye. Ryuku was in her dragon form protecting Froppy and Lemillion.

Mizuko saw the corner of her eye that Deku was reaching arms out to Eri to jump to him. Eri still seemed scared.

"Eri! We will protect you! We will make sure you never see him again. We just want you happy!" Deku cried out.

Eri stopped crying and looked like she had a realization that it was okay to trust Deku. Mizuko knew she had to convince her that it was okay to jump to Deku.

"Eri you can trust Deku! He's my friend! Trust in Deku like you trust in me." Mizuko was able to get the words out.

Eri nodded her head. She trusted in Mizuko and her words. If she said Deku was her friend, then Eri had to trust him. She jumped off the rubble that she stood on and had her hands out towards Deku who caught her in his arms. Mizuko smiled that she saw Eri took a literal leap of faith.
