The second match between Class A and B was finally ending. Mizuko was standing next to Shoto and Jiro as she was taken back that her class lost overwhelmingly. Yaoyorozu and Mizuko were known for the most battle IQ but Kendo was a few steps ahead of Yaoyorozu this whole match. However, she admired that Yaoyorozu still helped her team out even when she was defeated. She truly thought out multiple steps ahead."Even when she knew was going to lose, she still made sure she helped out her team. She's truly awesome." Mizuko said as she saw Yaoyorozu being carted away.
Shoto looked down at her and saw she was comparing herself to Momo. She and her were always naturally competing- best grades, class beauty, and now even best mind. Shoto also remembered how much he hurt her before when made that comment about him wanting Momo in the pageant instead of her.
He put his hand on her shoulder. "Don't compare yourself to her. Don't forget how strong you and how you helped lead your team to victory. I'm always proud of you, Mizuko."
Mizuko was slightly stunned to hear him say that. He could see her emotions running through her when she spoke earlier. Maybe he wasn't as dense as he always seems to be.
Shoto always said how much Mizuko saved him but he never realized how much he saved her.
"I needed that, Shoto. Thank you." She smiled up at him as the sunlight hit her. It made her shine even more to Shoto. It was like he saw an angel standing beside him.
He half smiled down at her and went to kiss her forehead but was soon interrupted by Shinso coming over and adding his commentary on the match to Mizuko.
"Our match was completely different. You could've dealt with Shishida with more of your water power but you knew how important it was to keep damage to a minimum, just like a real fight. Can't believe you were that smart, Shirakumo." Shinso said with his arms crossed looking down at her.
Mizuko stepped away from Shoto to stick her tongue out at him. "Had to show you how a hero course student does it, ya know?" She teased him.
Shoto formed a fist in his hand and didn't like the pit in his stomach he was feeling. He didn't like how he compliment her. He didn't like how she teased him like that. He didn't like that he interrupted his moment with her. He was angry and angry at himself for feeling like this.
Shoto didn't like how he was feeling when he saw Shinso near her at all. He then started to walk away from her to be close to his team since their match would be starting soon.
Mizuko noticed him walking away without saying anything. She ran after him and grabbed his arm.
"Hey Shoto! Where are you going?" She asked.
Shoto looked the other direction so he wouldn't show her his emotions, his jealousy. She didn't deserve to see him like that.
"My match will be starting soon. I need to plan with them." He said short as his phone rang again. Shoto knew it was his dad as his dad had called him for the fiftieth time since they've been training.
He got even madder now thinking about his dad and now Mizuko could see something was wrong with him.
"Hey you'll do great, you always do. But are you okay? You seem off. You can talk to me, you know?" She gave him that sweet smile that he always loved.
But Shoto didn't want to lie and he didn't want to tell her the full truth of his jealousy. He just was short and to the point before he walked away, "I know."
Shoto pulled away from her and walked towards Iida and the rest of his group.
Mizuko still had her hand reached out to him and it fell down to her side as she felt melancholy. She didn't know why he was acting like that. Maybe it was because Endeavor kept calling him. That had to be it.
