Mizuko was waiting out at the front of the UA gates for Shoto. She could feel her heart beating faster waiting for him. She was shifting her body back and forth while staring up at the sky. She noticed birds flying around in the orange sunset sky. It reminded her of when she stared out at the birds on the day she met the detective for questioning. She wished to be as free as those birds were that day.I know I should be sadder about my parents being locked away but they literally caged me since I was little by getting involved with All For One. I'm finally feeling free. Now if only he would stop wanting to take my quirk back, that's when I would be truly free from the weight I was given
Her thoughts were interrupted by a door closing. She turned her attention to the red and white haired boyfriend. Mizuko smiled and was just taking in how lucky she was to have him and how handsome he looked with his messy hair yet pristine uniform.
"You were taking long. Did you hear that loud thud earlier? I thought it came from your locker room." Mizuko teased him.
Shoto rolled his eyes up not wanting to make eye contact. He put his hand on the the back of his head and said, "Mineta fell in the locker room." He was short.
Mizuko could tell something was off by his body language. "He must've fell really hard"
Shoto sighed and grabbed her hand and started walking along with her. Mizuko followed him while interlocking her fingers with his. His touch made her feel so secure.
"Since when do you care what happens to that pervert? Besides I had something special planned. Let's not talk about him." He spoke while dragging her along.
Mizuko was curious about what he had planned. She didn't know him to be the type to pull off surprises but she was just glad to spend time with him alone. She could never explain to him how much he meant to her. Mizuko didn't have to wait much as Shoto only had a five minute walk.
Their destination was a beach. It was sunset so colors of pinks and oranges reflected off the ocean. It was later in the day so there was no one there. The beach was always her safe place. It was where she felt most connected to her quirk for obvious reasons.
"I remember you saying you would come to the beach to escape your dad's trainings. Well, I thought with everything that has happened lately that you should make the beach place filled with happy memories and not alone either." He smiled at Mizuko while walking onto the sand.
He remembered her confession and hated that her past was similar to his. He couldn't change her past but wanted to change her future.
"It's beautiful out tonight, Shoto!" She hugged him tightly. He smiled looking down on her.
They both took off their shoes and started walking down by the water. The cold water made them shutter for a second as the waves gently touched their feet. They walked along the water holding hands with fingers intertwined. Mizuko then had a mischievous smirk on her face. Shoto already knew what was coming and tried running.
"Nope, you're in my element now!" She laughed as she lightly splashed him by making the ocean water come at him.
The water covered his suit jacket so he took that off as well as his tie. He now wore just his white t-shirt and slacks. Mizuko could see how big arms were from training in that outfit. It made her blush.
"My sister is going to be so annoyed my jacket got wet." He was half joking.
"What's your sister like? I feel like I know about your past but not too much about your family, you know? Well besides your dad of course." Mizuko asked while sitting down in the sand.
Shoto sighed as he sat down next to her. He never really liked talking about it but he knew she would meet them all eventually, but not anytime soon if he had control over it. He could only imagine how awkward of a dinner that would be.
"My sister Fuyumi, she acts very motherly. She took on that role when my mom left.. Natsuo is my brother. He's nice. I didn't interact with him much growing up. I had another brother named, Toya, but he died..." Shoto had fists in his hands. Mizuko was taken a back and held his fist to show support. She wasn't going to ask about Toya until Shoto was ready. She didn't want to open old wounds.
"You already know my old man. And of course I've told you about my mom. I've been visiting her on our off days. We've made a lot of progress. I would like for you to meet her eventually.." Shoto finished up on a happier note.
"How can I forget that pain in the ass, Endeavor? Although, as much he annoys me, I guess I have to thank him for catching me when the Nomu dropped me. I'm glad I know why my internship was at his agency now though..I knew he didn't want anything to do with me after I yelled at him at the Sports Festival. But I would love to meet your mom, Shoto. I'm sure you get a lot of good qualities from her."
Shoto released his fist and placed his hand under her chin and tilted her head to face him.
"He may not want anything to do with you but I want everything to do with you. In the moment you were falling in the sky, I was scared I would never be able to hold you again. I'm sorry I failed to protect you." His eyes were sad
"Shoto! I'm here. Plus I promised you I will help support you always to be the number one hero, remember? It's kind of hard to do that if I'm not here. I'll always find a way back to you. And like I said, I'm right here, Shoto. I'm not going anywhere." She closed her eyes and smiled.
Shoto couldn't hold back anymore. He couldn't get over how much of a hold on his heart this person had. She looked beautiful tonight too. Even though the wind was blowing, her blue hair remained perfect. Her light blues were captivating as always. She was just perfect.
His lips then met hers quickly. Mizuko responded by kissing him back and wrapping her arms around his neck.
The kissing became more passionate and Shoto took her arms off of him and pushed himself on top of her on the beach while their lips remained locked together. His lips then wandered to kissing her cheek down to her neck. He broke free for a moment to grab her arms and pin them over her head. Mizuko was annoyed he stopped that moment.
"I win." Shoto teased in reference when Endeavor challenged them to face each other at their internship.
Mizuko rolled her eyes at him. "Really, Shoto?!."
While these two young lovers were enjoying their romance, they didn't notice a young man watching from further up from the coast. He had his hood up to hide his identity although no one would probably recognize him anyways. He laughed looking at the couple.
"Ahh young love! How interesting to learn that Endeavor trained her and swore to protect her when he wouldn't do the same for one of his own children. It's just so crazy how that our target is someone precious to both little Shoto and Endeavor as well. Seems like if I get my hands on her the League will be happy and the Todoroki family will crumble. This will be fun..."
