“Hey, did ya hear this thing about Luka?”
“About Luka? Whaddya mean? Did my dude do something?”
“You should really stop calling him a ‘dude’.”
“Huh? Why?”
“That’s a chick.”
“A chick? Bwahaha, did you hit your head or somethin’?”
“No, I’m serious. My sister told me.”
“Maki? Ain’t she only talking about this stupid next Detective Prince these days?”
"Tell me about it. But she was dead serious anyways. Showed me this video of Luka walking into some bathroom.”
“And?”
“The craziest shit happened! Next thing a chick looking exactly like him walked outta there! The bag was the same too! Even had the same charms on it and all!”
“You sure you didn’t imagine it?”
“I know my bro’s face! That was him! Maki said he’s a chick!”
“Does he at least look cute? Maybe I can ask him out~”
“Dude, eww! You’d really date a crossdresser?”
“Mom’s annoyed that I'm not getting a girlfriend. Luka could be my life savior!”
“You’re weird…”
“Nah man, just desperate. Anyone would do at this point.”
“Even a weird crossdressing chick?”
“Oh you have no idea…”
Luka recognized the voices, two if his friends. And it turned out that one of them was Maki’s brother. It was true in the end… Maki had something to do with those rumors. All the laughter, all the glares… Not just that but when Luka was hanging out with the guys he felt some odd stares at him. In fact he recently felt checked out, to the point it was hard to focus on anything really. It was hard to enjoy the time off with the guys. All because they believed one thing – That Luka was a female. This was just one of many conversations.
Yet if he dared to bring it up? Well, things would not end greatly. When he thought that he could at least talk about those things properly with the guys, why he had the constant feeling of being ogled, especially from behind, they would only tell Luka to ‘get it together’ and that ‘it’s a guys’ thing’. They avoided the confrontation, plain and simple, disregarding how he felt in the end. All he could do was shut up unless ‘he had to tell them something’. All from a rumor… He couldn’t even talk with most of his buddies anymore. It just felt so uncomfortable, so alienating. He was treated differently within the group. It was either distance or the guys becoming competitive to ‘talk alone with Luka’. And it left them in utter shock if not disgust. He could no longer talk to them either without worrying about such things… This was the worst.
Luka wanted to throw up, he really did. The time where he didn’t want to be reminded of his body. It was an on and off thing of course but the times where he really didn’t want to think about it and just be seen as a dude at the very least… Even that had been taken away from him. Sure, it still wasn’t the greatest situation as he had to pretend to only be ‘Luka’ but at least he felt as if he could be… Well, a guy. Be one of the dudes. Just the feeling of being seen as a guy was satisfying enough. But now…
The others are just reminding him of a body he cannot have at the time and he does not feel proud of. Not just that but they see him as a… Well, ‘she’. And there was no changing that mind… It was either a face of disgust or having the eyes of creeps on him.
“ Good luck roleplaying, Crossdresser! Then again, not like me and the others will miss you anyways~ ”
N… No, that… It’s not–
Then again… Maybe Maki has a point… The flower on the desk had said it all…
They’re useless and weird, do it’s best if they were just… Gone.
