‘Hello. Sorry for disturbing you this late at night. 

Do you have some time for the next few days?’

‘Yeah. Why you ask?’

‘I did not expect an answer so early.’

‘I can get up early if I want!’

‘You did not go to sleep yet, did you?’

‘...

Yeah.’

‘You’re unbelievable sometimes.’

‘It’s too hot during the afternoon though!’

‘I suppose we can talk about your sleeping habits later.

Back to what I wanted to discuss – If we must work together, I think it is also important to bond.’

‘By hanging out? We’re already doing that, aren't we?’

‘Usually that requires you dragging me to places.’

‘Gets the job done~’

‘I’m not even surprised…

Either way, we have more time on our hands now.

So I suggest going places and get to know one another better.’

‘Oh? Am I asked out on dates now? You’re a sly dog Akechi~’

‘Don’t get ahead of yourself.’

‘Haha, just kidding~

Seriously though, can’t argue with any of that. 

And outside of our work I’m usually free. Just hit me up whenever, ‘kay?’

‘I’ll keep it in mind.’

That was the agreement at least and they were honestly surprised. It was unlike Akechi to ask them to go out somewhere. Actually, this was the very first time. And yet he did so anyways, under the premise of ‘having to bond outside of work, especially if the two are going to work together’. They didn’t know how to properly react to something like that yet usually things like these should leave them… Indifferent. But not in this case. This was different. They found themself a little… Dare they say excited? Yeah, excited. Oddly enough, they were excited. It was that plain and simple. Though they had been wondering the entire time if it wasn’t just an act or if he was bored. Something like that. It was possible after all, wasn’t it? 

But there was no use in speculating. It looked as if the two would be hanging out more often now, especially during summer. There was more time, yes and… Maybe they have been secretly desiring to have a little more time here and there. But that may be beside the point right now. Because when the two met up… Well…

Since it was so hot today they kept it safe. Sure, even if they covered their entire body they made sure that their summer clothes were light and floaty. So a wide, white shirt and baggy, black trousers which were rather light however. The ponytail was a default choice in this get up anyways. Though the feeling around their chest was a little tight… Then again they always made sure that they could breathe so it wasn’t so bad.  Overall their clothing was light, even if it hid their body features right now. Yet when they had a closer look at Akechi’s get up they were just… 

“Hey… Can I be brutally honest?” They asked as they had noticed their eyelids twitch a little. 

“As if you aren’t already but go on.” They heard him respond which made them take a deep breath before saying with no hesitation…

“I’m sweating just by looking at you!” 

Akechi’s get up looked like nothing suitable for the summer season! A shirt would be one thing and long sleeves… Heck, they were wearing long sleeves too right now! But how can this guy run around in his sweater west!? It’s summer damn it! Who runs around like that!? They didn’t understand and maybe they didn’t have too but… Ugh, as if it didn’t feel like an oven already. Looking at Akechi only made it worse.

“Huh? Does it really?” Akechi asked them, as if clueless about this. And all they could do was nod several times. 

“Isn’t it getting uncomfortable? This looks more like a winter get up!”

“Oh, my apologies. I didn’t have time to pick something else out. is it really that unsuitable?”

“Yeah!” They responded quickly. “Couldn’t you have at least not worn this goddamn sweater of yours!?”

He only looked at them however, as if irritated, perhaps actually confused for once. “Luka, you act as if you have to wear this.”

“I mean I don’t but…” They argued. And well yeah, that was an argument but still… “You sure you’re feeling comfortable like this?”

“If I wasn’t I wouldn’t be wearing it, would I?”

“That—” They really couldn’t argue with that. And were they really going to continue arguing about this? “Nevermind… You win. But still looks as if you plan to sweat yourself to death.”

“No. I am trying to simulate the feeling of a sauna while walking actually~” Akechi suddenly said, his tone shifting into a more lighthearted one. It would get anyone stare at him with wide eyes, very much so. And they were no exception to this.

“Wh… What the—”

“Don’t worry. I’m just kidding.” 

“R… Right. Of course you were.”

Well, they just knew that this was going to be a long day. But… Hey, at least they could take it a little easy for the time being… Right?
