Cutting the ties… Yeah, this was the only way before they would become annoying. All before they could become a big foil in his plans. There was no need for distractions, especially not from them. That was what Goro had been deciding on at the time when learning the truth. Actually he had considered getting rid of them for some time now. They were just an obstacle after all, one he would rather not bother with any longer. They took up too much of his time, always dragging him to places and trying to tickle something out of him. He was not too fond of it. And once learning of their motivation, or rather taking an educated guess… It was perfect to shoot them down, give them no longer a reason to stick around. This should have been it. The two can go their separate ways now!

It will take a bit to adjust to this again but that was how things were supposed to be in the end. No unnecessary obstacles, no inconveniences. He didn’t need any of that. Though, thinking of this possibility… To have been nearly tricked by someone like them… It was nothing else but to scoff at. Yeah, there was nothing else crossing his mind. Being affected because they wanted to play a stupid game with him? No, nothing like that. He could care less. In the end he had caught them red handed anyway. They couldn’t hide it for long. No need for unnecessary bloodshed. In the end they had nothing to do with the bigger picture after all. So that was alright. No big loss, no holes in his plans. Just—

“Good morning Akechi—Kun~!”

When hearing the voice he suddenly came to a standstill. Goro felt his blood freeze, not wanting to believe his ears at that moment. For a second he thought that he was imagining it, having perhaps gotten a little too used to it. It would be a change after all, wouldn’t it? Or so he thought. Yet something made him turn around, just to make sure. It was nothing he was certain of… But no, much to his surprise, it wasn’t. Because guess who was standing right in front of him?

A young brunette female, short, brown, messy hair yet the front reached up to her chest. A white, shoulder–free top with a greenish tank top beneath as well as a black skirt reaching down to the middle of her thighs. Her legs were fully exposed too except for the part with the white socks and black shoes. And the usual upbeat smile on her face… Wait, no. It wasn’t the ‘usual’. It had a bit of a different feeling to it… And yet…

It had him in utter shock, not having expected this sight nor her in any way. What the… How… Shouldn’t she have been off put? Wasn’t her goal complete!? He wasn’t wrong, right!? No way he was wrong, was he!? No… It can’t be…. It just cannot be! Right… Right!? He… He didn’t understand. So much so that he couldn’t hide the shock in his expression… What…. What is she thinking!? What is going on in that head of hers!? What— “A… Anja!? But—”

“What a coincidence to meet you here so early in the morning~” She cut him off however, only walking up right next to him all of a sudden and… Getting too close for comfort, of course. That didn’t change. B… But… “But that’s fine. I don’t mind meeting Akechi–Kun in the morning. Makes it ten times more bearable!”

“Wh… Why are you…”

“Up early? Hmmm… I felt like visiting my favorite café. Are you out to appear in a show again?”

“Y… Yes… But… That’s beside the—”

“Which one? I gotta catch that! Also when is it!? I’ll be home by then!”

She just kept on interrupting him, didn’t she? That girl… She wasn’t going to answer, was she? But how? How!? He thought that he had gotten rid of her! The past few days… What…

This was all just confusing, frustrating even. Despite the short encounter she didn’t back out. Was she seriously trying to befriend him? That wasn’t an act after all!? No, it cannot… But… Ah damn it! This girl is confusing him! No, not just she… Luka, he is too! Yeah, she was and he was… Both halves were… And that led to them confusing Goro yet again. She acted like this, as if nothing happened! As if—

“I don’t get you.” Before knowing it these words had slipped out of his mouth. He didn’t intend for that to happen yet they did. It made Anja tilt her head for a moment, though that smile of hers was not disappearing. What an irritating person… He didn’t know what to think anymore.

“Really? Yeesh Akechi–Kun. But that’s fine. We can get to know each other after all… Can’t we~?”

Worst of all… She was probably serious about this… He’s not going to get rid of her, is he? Good grief…

From that point onward he knew it… That they would stick around no matter what. And all attempts to escape were futile.  But maybe… It wasn’t that bad…
