It was meant to be a walk home, them having been part of a discussion on how to proceed with the Phantom Thieves. Though there was a dead end. There was little progress in this investigation as of now. At this point they didn't even know what to do anymore. Sneaking in as a Shujin student? They had been held off from that plan, at least for the time being but they saw no other way anymore. Yet they were told to not get themself into too much trouble yet would that be truly any trouble? They could just pretend to be a transfer student... Well, they had time to find a way to be convincing for a while. School is not in session until September, luckily.

And yet they felt as if they had exhausted all of their own resources. Investigating a case is way more exhausting than thought. And to imagine that Akechi kept this up alongside other responsibilities... He sure knows how to work or plan around or something... Truly a genius, in one way at least. That or he was just more organized. It was all still exhausting, a lot to keep up with. But it was something they had to accept for now.

Though just as those thoughts had crossed their mind while walking home they spotted something dashing past their legs. A cat, black and white. One may mistake it for a suit, given the shape of the fur. The belly all white, front paws like tiny shoes and back paws like boots. That and— Wait, upon closer inspection the cat looked familiar. The size, being below the average height of a male cat... Wait a moment! They knew the cat! That was... Ole!?

Ole, the old family cat of the Wolffs. 16 years of age, 17 in August. It was not usual for cats to get this old and move around freely. Yet Ole was one of those rare exceptions, being able to dash around as if it was nothing. Yet didn't he usually stay indoors? What was going on here!? Maybe he was in trouble and was searching for someone!? Actually they couldn't think of a reason so quickly yet it had them worried. This was unlike him. He usually preferred the warm, cozy, comfy corners of the home he was residing in. So why...

But there was no use questioning it. Before they could even do such a thing they decided to just run right after the cat, wanting to see where he was headed. If he got himself into danger it would be over for him, wouldn't it!? And they weren't sure how they were going to handle that of all things! He couldn't get hurt after all! That was not a loss they nor their mother could handle! Father was already gone after all so if Ole followed suit— But then again, why did he even step outside to begin with!?

But no matter, they managed to spot him shortly after and follow suit. How he was roaming through the streets in a speed, as if in a hurry. Though once having gotten himself into a small alleyway, away from the prying eye, they saw him look and sniff around. Thus in a safe distance they hid behind the wall, peeking over.

No sound was made, not even a meow. All Ole did was look around and sniff before just seeming to sit there for a moment. This was... Weird, to say the least. Just what was he up to now? No, really. What was he up to here? They couldn't tell. This was only getting weirder and weirder. Then again there had been a sudden gap in their memory.

It was when Ole got up, out of his sitting position and suddenly stretching, paws in front and his back lifted up into the air. Even his tail had lifted itself upwards. Not to mention that he... Yawned? A sudden stretch for sure... Though they then saw him moving again, one tap after the other occurring. The last thing their eyes had taken note off was a sudden... Black hole in the air? No, not exactly but—

Yet it was right then and there where their head started to hurt. They noticed pants coming out of their mouth despite trying not to make a sound but it was hopeless. Instead they noticed falling to their knees as the environment turned red for a moment, or had a reddish undertone. It was unusual, nothing they had seen. Yet before they could process what was going on, let alone what was happening to them they noticed their eyes closing, no longer hearing anything going on around them.
