"Although... Don't tell me you still want to come along with us to the Palaces."
"Of course I will! No backing out whatsoever! Why?"
"And how are you going to convince them of doing that?"
"I just tell them what I told you, minus Pipistrello and who you are. And I'm not going to take no for an answer."
"I take back what I said earlier. Maybe you are an idiot."
"Hey. I got this. And I got Ole to protect me too. I'll be ok."
"You're unbelievable sometimes..."
"You guys will meet again tomorrow, right?"
"Yes, we will. Let me guess, you want to come along?"
"Pretty much. Please~?"
"Ugh, fine... But you'll speak for yourself this time."
"Yes yes. I'll prepare a convincing speech and all just to convince them to take me along to the Palace too. Then again... I could just sneak in anytime I wanted."
"You... Are set on this, aren't you?"
"Hehe, pretty much."
Goro still couldn't believe it, that they would go so far. Though they had given a fair argument as well. If they didn't come along, or he wouldn't let them, they could just sneak in by themself and meet up there. So it was useless to tell them to not attend the meeting. And they pretty much knew as much as he knew so what was even the point to begin with? He couldn't exactly stop them in the end so he was just going to make it easier on himself. So, once home he had exchanged a few messages with them.
'Do you even know where Leblanc is?'
'I know of it.
That old man Sakura's running it.
We're meeting up there?'
'You already know of it?'
'I'm visiting there regularly. The coffee is so good! That and I go there to write sometimes.'
'I didn't expect that. You won't need the coordinates then?'
'I'll be fine!
See ya tomorrow!'
Though it seemed that things had gone back to normal between the two... All from that one conversation. A contrast to when it had all started. Honestly, he was more waiting when they were going to collapse on the ground than anything. They looked terrified... Yet when they got more used to it they seemed to be becoming calmer and before knowing it they were pretty much like he used to know them. It's not that he missed it or cared, nothing like that. He just... He was wondering where that attitude of their went. That's all.
Though to him it still felt a little surreal, unbelievable even. They knew who he was. And that day confirmed it to them. But even with that they didn't really take action against him. Surely, the entity they are with could find a way to let them slip through the cracks but instead their decision had been a different one... Letting him go. Something just... He couldn't describe it but he felt that he had gotten a little too lucky here. They could have just gone ahead and make him pay, getting rid of him altogether. But they didn't, using reasons such as 'It would look suspicious' or 'I have no evidence against Akechi–Kun'. It didn't make sense in his head, why they didn't when they had the chance.Though dwelling on that would be useless in the end. He should just be glad that he was still around... Yet he didn't understand this nor understand them. They were weird in some aspects. Then again, they had always been like this. He really didn't get it.
