What turned into a simple sounding task of stealing something from this place turned quickly into a mess. Then again, to Ole this was just every other day at Mementos. Or in this place overall. Honestly he had just been planning on discovering what this was even about. He had no other reason to be here. Nor had he ever imagined that some place like that existed to begin with. How he got here seemed irrelevant at this point though he had his suspicions as an old man.

It was this Pipistrello thing, wasn't it? Its timing was just too convenient. Including the timing in regards to this Palace thing... A little too well thought out. And yet he couldn't exactly go against it nor say that he wasn't exactly ungrateful. Even if it got this old man into this mess too... Even the current mess they were in.

This mess being running and hopping around. The cat had even decided to pick his owner up and carry them around while hopping, even jumping on the walls and bouncing off them. But it only got them both so far. Running and running, he would grow tired of it. And then they would be on their own... Something they could impossibly handle. And they were the one with the treasure too. What would one do in this situation? He can't keep this up forever. He would tire out and then it would be over, wouldn't it?

The massive thing would not just run after them, it would also slap and punch for them, leaving cracks everywhere if not even breaking the ground and walls right beneath. Yet it didn't seem to care what it tore apart. All it yelled was that it needed to ' Protect her memories '. Protect whose? The owner of this Palace's. Talk about devotion... Even if it was nothing but a cognition. It went far, just for some lousy book. And yet, it proved one thing... That it would be willing to do anything as long as it was for her sake. For this Miyuki girl. But the two also had a mission to accomplish. And that thing could not stop them. It shouldn't stop them. It should just—

Ah, Ole can't take it anymore! Running was only going to get them so far! He had to act quickly. Then again, the answer might be a little obvious. Very obvious actually. Though he shot a glance at the human in his arms, then noticed something sticking out from their pocket all of a sudden.

"Hey. That gun..." He began to talk while running. They then looked up for a moment, as if surprised that he had pointed it out right then and there.

"The... Gun?"

"You brought it with you? That they'd let you—"

"N... No! I don't have one in the real world!" They corrected quickly but then followed it up, their eyes wide with an idea. "Wait.... You think I should use it?"

"During a chase!? Not a chance!" Ole responded quickly, shooting a glare right down. "You might hit something or someone you don't want to!"

"R... Right... But, that's our only—"

"Where did you get that thing from anyways!?"

"That was me of course." That thing again... Pipistrello just barged in. And yet... Ole was willing to hear it out. "A generous donation, wouldn't you say?"

"You—" He began yet not really with skepticism or disapproval. Instead it was as if having come to a realization. And while he would rather bite into one of his paws or even his tongue he decided to just swallow his pride at that moment. There was no other choice, was there? He could hold that thing chasing them off only for so long with his own bare hands. "Very... Do you have something else with you?"

"Huh? Is the old man asking for help? From moi?"

He didn't want to admit to it. Honestly, the growl was enough evidence. But... He had to. "Y... Yes... I am..."

"Oho, how interesting. Is the power you have not enough of a present?"

"A... Present? So... It was you who—"

"Buuut I might know where this is going. Alright, have it your way. Let's see... Ahaha! This will do nicely!" And then it happened quickly. Something soon fell down from out of nowhere, forming right into the other free hand of Ole's owner, making them latch onto it. They took a closer look, eyeing it just as much as he is. Though one could see the shock in their eyes all of a sudden, literal wide eyes he would make as well.

"A jumping rope!?" They asked, a bit loud from the surprise. A jumping rope... Those long things which have two hard ends? And the wolly thing being some rope, thin and slim... Wait... Pipistrello might be onto something. Ole realized that quickly. Maybe... This could be more useful than the gun they were carrying!

So he nodded to himself, jumping from one wall to the other before seeing an opening far enough. He took a bit to press himself together, as if building up power, then literally pushing himself forward in one quick swoop to this opening, one with a passage leading further away. Right away he put them back onto their feet, then snatched the rope quickly. "Good enough! Give it to me!" He even yelled.

"Ole!? What are you—"

"You keep running!" He interrupted quickly before turning away from them. He didn't want to see it, their potential expression of terror at that point. They must be worried sick yet he couldn't take that into consideration. Someone had to get out of here on time. And it would be them since they have the treasure.

"Huh!? But–" Of course they would want to protest, making him hiss right after. This again... And again! It was nothing new and yet it still had him on edge. Enough that he shouted his next phrase rather loudly.

"RUN!" That put them t silence right away... Though he was also getting more and more terrified. The stomps became louder, quickly at that. The massive thing will be here... No choice, he had to reassure them somehow. "I will follow soon! But you worry about getting out of here!"

"Hoh? The old man is playing hero now?" The figure asked, making the cat only scoff.

"Does it matter!? Just go! I'll handle this!"

"Alright, have your glorious moment. You heard him dearie~"

"But Ole—" They would always say something like that, only making him want to give them an earful. But it seemed that they got silenced right away.

"Let's take the chance. He's offering after all. Besides, don't you trust this veteran?"

"I... Trust Ole yes but—"

"No more buts! Let's get going. I'm sure he'll be just fine~"

It was reluctant but he heard that quiet 'Yeah' eventually, only then to hear them turn around and run off. Yet not before reminding him to stay safe which made him somewhat laugh. "Stay safe they say... Heh, kinda impossible now. But I got this."

And the moment he opened his eyes again he saw the giant machine standing right in front of him again, looking right down.
