"The forced investigation will take place on November 20th. That's our deadline this time."
"Is there any possibility of that investigation being moved to an earlier date?"
"I highly doubt it."
"How can you be so sure? Didn't they want to catch us as soon as they possibly could?"
"They may be corrupt, but they are still a bureaucracy. Certain steps must be taken in order to continue forward. Unless their situation becomes extremely dire, they won't act with only circumstantial evidence."
"I'm impressed detective man. You sure know a lot about internal affairs."
"Yes, he is quite promising."
"Well, this is purely a give–and–take relationship. You taught me the inner workings of the Phantom Thieves, so it's only fair that I return the favor. And I will be sure to contact everyone if the investigation makes any odd movements."
"That would be helpful."
To these blind ears it probably sounded too good to be true. And yet, even if these were parts of an empty promise, Lukanja couldn't deny that Akechi seems to prove more worth than they ever could. He had proven it even before entering the Palace that day and even at the beginning he proved it as well. At this rate they knew how quickly they would become just some inconvenience, or so it felt like. They had said it themself, that they wanted to help, but in this state they couldn't exactly do much. Especially with the position they had been shoved into – The back. Then again, they were not blaming the others. Unlike them they were not able to defend themself. They had to rely on Ole for self defense, even now. Was there even any need for them to be there?
They sighed, only being able to listen in, even as the group seemed to discuss on how to proceed, shortly after having entered the Palace. Of course not after procedures to introduce everyone to Lukanja, including the Codenames used whenever entering the Palace. They had asked why there was even a need for this. Mona's response? " Because that's what Phantom Thieves do! " And they left it at that.
Also even though temporary, they had also asked Ole to pick one. He kept it simple, just a short 'O'. When asked why he had just shrugged to be honest. "First thing which came to mind." Lukanja had none, seeing no need for them at that point if ever. Well, they did stick out like a sore thumb to be honest. They were the only one still in their casual clothes. Even Ole fit more in. Sure he didn't have a mask but he was wearing his oversized coat at least. He had some clothing... They really felt even more out of place. But that had to be expected, didn't it? Whatever.
So... The spot they had chosen to enter the building... Wait no, why were they even surprised? Sneaking in from the top, right where the ceiling was, on all the chandeliers and the other parts of the structure right on the ceiling. Actually, a gaze down made them feel a little woozy... Was this how the group constantly operated? From such heights and spots, trying to hide from the prying eyes... It didn't just make them feel uneasy but they also knew that they were going to slow everyone down. Because how were they able to jump from one thing to the next!? Especially without powers! Not just that but Lukanja had never been the athletic type either!
"Hm, we'll need to somehow get the elevator moving." Queen brought up.
Crow had followed her statement up by summarizing what had been already concluded yesterday. "And for that, we will need to have a member's card."
"Where're we gonna get one though?" Skull asked. "There's not too many places we can go right now." And it made them think as well. They thought that would have been the chance for them to contribute, to be productive. But they needed a bit to think. And even when they had thought about it, it didn't come to them so easily. So they decided to listen to the banter instead.
