"I'm home!"

They said that yet their voice was far from the usual mood honestly. They were exhausted, especially with everything which had been going on. Actually, they just wanted to fall into bed and use their brain juices for tomorrow. They had a plan to come up with, and be quick about it. The direct contact with the Phantom Thieves had been established and they had only so much time to lose.. Which isn't any at all. They had to be very quick when it came to making a decision. Things were only turning tense yet even more tense the more time they lost. And they really couldn't afford any more.

However, for a part of the evening their thoughts had shifted to something completely different. It was when they had heard a certain politician's voice through the television screen, making them roll their eyes immediately. It had gotten so tiring that they were not even paying attention to his words anymore. It was always the same. Big words, only to point fingers and talk about how shit everything is. He 'says what the masses think' and all but... Ugh, where were the arguments? Where were the suggestions? Where were the plans? 'I will change the future someday'. A bold statement but in what way? Being so unspecific... That only made it all more suspicious. But they really didn't care at that point. Others seemed to like what he was saying, some even pressed to vote now. Yet it was not time for the elections... Was—

That was until they had heard it, right from the television. The reporter seemed to say something which had gotten them a little... Curious, to say the least. They didn't know of the exact words but there was mention of this guy wanting to 'form a new party'. A new party though huh? At a time like this? Wasn't that a little convenient? A little too convenient? Just when the people were riled up and starting to lose their faith in the current government more and more, the current system in power... This was decided all of a sudden?

Well, ok, not decided. It was just a rumor. But if this were to happen all of a sudden then... Ugh, no. What were they on about? Sure, that was not their favorite politician talking. Never was, never will be. But maybe everything lately has been putting them on the edge. It could all just be happening by chance and these incidents were not even close to being related to one another. And it was a pretty smart move probably, getting all the voters on some other side. The world of politics was a cruel one after all. Yeah, maybe these recent events just had them a little worn out, made them suspicious of every little thing happening in their life. What's next? They suspect the fridge is hiding bodies or something? At this rate maybe, they wouldn't put it past themself.

In fact, it took them a bit to notice that their mother had been walking up to them with a smile. Though it was also her voice which had gotten them out of their thoughts at that moment. "Welcome home dear. How was your day?"

It made them turn to her, trying to keep up the act of being alright yet they could not do so. Instead they noticed how they fell right onto the couch right then and there, not even hesitating doing so. And not to mention the slightly whiny tone they had. "I'm tired!"

"Tired? Then it must have been an exhausting day."

"Uh... Guess you could say that... Sorry..."

"Aww, it's fine. You're probably busy, aren't you?"

"W... Well... You could say that." In a way they were, they had to admit. They were busy but not in a way she would imagine. But did that change anything? No, probably not. It was still the same as always after all.

"Then you'll look forward to dinner and a bath before going to bed."

"Ah— Y... Yeah, sure." Yet they were not really listening either, they had to admit. Their head was occupied with so many things at once. It was hard to focus on one thing alone. And even more when trying to shove these thoughts aside and rest mentally. It could not be easily forgotten... And yet, the last thing they heard that day was a chuckle in their head. A chuckle they were all too familiar with.
