A scolding right at arrival... Ole had heard from Pipistrello it seemed and had been given them an earful quickly, wanting to get it out of the way first. "What were you doing all by yourself? Are you crazy!? You could get yourself killed! What will we do without you!? Especially your mother! She would be devastated to lose someone else!" And so on and so forth. Though he had not been wrong and the reasons for concern were more than valid, they had to admit that much as well. They didn't even get themself to say that this was necessary. Otherwise they would still be at a standstill. And they have gotten so close now... So very close.
Though the operation had to go a little quicker than anticipated. Honestly they had also hoped to take more time but given the circumstances it was a 'now or never' scenario, with only a timeframe to complete. They... Didn't know exactly what time it was. They had no sense of time in the room they were trapped in as there had been no clock or a window. And the phone in the Metaverse? It changed its function completely and showed only a date, not the time. But when they had taken a quick glance it was luckily still the same day. And Miyuki did say she would come back 'tomorrow'. So there was still some time left. Deep breath and go!
There was no time to waste and they had been made aware of that. 'Find the treasure room'... Well, Pipistrello sure had made it sound easier than it actually was. It meant that they honestly had to dig even deeper into the Palace. In short they had to go into even deeper depths by then. The hallway was the best lead they had, when they passed by 'that' room. It was a spontaneous escape after all. Even if it led to branching paths, they had to get in as deep as possible. Even if it was a bit of aimless wandering, what choice did they have? None! Exactly!
And that was the plan... It sounded simple but just when they were about to take one step inside the building as a whole— A sudden shock and quick jump backwards, then looking up what it exactly was. Their heart was pounding from the suddenness. They swore that they had seen something sharp flying right towards their face, only to just barely dodge it. Something sharp, right on a ball, just barely hitting them as it had swung right out the door, yet not close enough to even leave a scratch. "Wh... What the—"
"Ahh, of course she'd act on it. She really wants to see you in terror~" Pipistrello commented, to the being it was just some sick joke, as always.
Ole on the other hand... "A spike ball, huh... She got out the big weapons it seems."
"She really loves to entertain her guests, doesn't she? Oh what a courteous woman!"
"Courteous my ass!"
"Aww, don't be such a grumpy old man."
"Whose head nearly got cut off!?"
"Ah yes, nearly. Enough to give someone a shock, certainly. But nothing to fear." It continued, only making the cat growl in response. Though it followed up its explanation with the following: "Don't worry. I doubt that she has any intention on killing you two. At least not yet."
"What makes you say that?" They asked, confused by that statement at first glance. "Wouldn't it be done if we just died now?"
"That would be the logical approach. But here's the thing... That's not how a sadist works dearie. Or at least this sadist doesn't work like that."
"C... Come again?"
"Fufu, must I really spell it out for you? How much fun do you think she would have if you got your pretty, little head cut off or smashed in without her around?"
"That..."
"You're implying that she's just toying with us right now?" Ole interrupted, the annoyance in his voice more than obvious at that point. He even rolled his eyes.
