Rajveer's POV
As I watched her come downstairs, I regretted every decision I had made, especially not asking my family for details about her. Since arriving here, all I knew was where she worked; the rest remained a mystery.
Finally, after everyone had finished their questions, they suggested we talk alone. We went to the gazebo in the garden, where a table was set up. I must say, the palace and garden are mesmerizing, beautifully crafted with old designs presented in a modern way.
As we sat opposite each other, I struggled to find a way to start the conversation. I wasn't sure if she sensed my discomfort, but she asked if I had any questions for her. 'Yes, I want to ask a lot, and the fact that you seem familiar makes me want to know everything,' my conscious mind replied.
"Ji, actually, um, I don't know anything about you—only that you are the CHRO of your brother's company. So, I want to ask pretty much everything. Starting with your name. Hi, I'm Rajveer Shekhawat," I managed to reply politely, even though my mind was screaming.
She chuckled and replied, "Hello, Nayantara Ranawat. Nice to meet you."
"Nayantara?" I asked, confused. Is she really the Tara I've been searching for?
"Lagta hai aap hamein bhul gaye hain, Veer," she smiled. (Seems like you've forgotten me, Veer.)
"Tara?" I asked again, shocked by her answer, praying for a positive confirmation.
"Ji," she replied, her sweet and charming smile lighting up her face.
"Oh no, how long I've searched for you! Ever since the camp, I've only been looking for you, and this is how we meet?" I exclaimed. (How much did I search for you! Since the camp, I've only searched for you, and this is how we meet.)
I was over the moon hearing this—she was the Tara I had been waiting for! I never expected this. No wonder she felt familiar; she was still that perfect little Tara I had seen at the camp and the beautiful girl I glimpsed on my birthday. Destiny truly works in mysterious ways.
"You just vanished from the camp," I said with a pout.
"Ji, actually, there were some issues at home, and I was called back immediately," she replied, a hint of sadness in her voice.
"I'm glad we met now," I said, trying to cheer her up.
"Yes, in the most unexpected way, we meet again," she chuckled.
"True," I said, gazing into her eyes.
She shared a little about herself—she was still the same, but there seemed to be something bothering her. I wanted to ask about it, but I felt it was too soon.
"By the way, are you in touch with anyone from the camp?" she asked.
"Yes, Gautam and Rishabh are my best friends. We've shared a bond since childhood, and Anjali is more of an on-and-off connection, as we mostly meet her through Gautam," I replied with a smile.
"Oh, I met them a few years back at a birthday party, and since then, Anjali has been in constant contact. I'm glad to have her and Priyanshi now," she said excitedly.
