Author's POV
The day of the engagement had finally arrived. Both Adipur and Sindhurgarh were illuminated with lights as their Prince and Princess were about to be engaged. The entire city was buzzing with excitement, celebrating this joyous union.
As per Rajveer's Dadi Sa's wishes, the engagement ceremony was being held at the old palace of Adipur. The venue was lavishly decorated with flowers and lights, and the garden was arranged for the occasion. Only a few Friends and Family were invited, making the entire event an intimate affair.
Rajveer and Nayantara were excited about the new journey they were about to begin together, and they wanted to cherish every moment of it. They had shared a few secret meetings, and, well, we all know what happened during those moments—too much PDA is never a good idea.
Rajveer was getting ready in his room, dressed in a light blue Jaipuri suit. The fabric was adorned with intricate zari work, and a few diamonds were studded near the pocket, forming the design of the logo for their union, which Aditi had designed.
The garden was meticulously arranged, with tables and chairs placed at equal distances for the guests to sit. Each table had beautiful flower arrangements, and a bowl of confetti was placed on each for the ring ceremony. Everything was so aesthetically pleasing.
Nayantara, on the other hand, was getting her makeup done. She looked absolutely stunning in her light blue gown, which had a slight train. Her hands were decorated with mehendi that spoke volumes about their love.
The gown was intricately designed, and the sweetheart neckline complemented the heirloom necklace which she wore. Being strapless, the gown had three delicate lines of crystals falling on her arms, adding a graceful touch. The train wasn't too long, but it was detailed with delicate artwork. She looked nothing short of a princess, and today, she deserved to look her absolute best. But oh my, Rajveer was surely going to be swept off his feet today.
She wore minimal makeup, and her tiara, which she had custom-made, incorporated their initials, blending with the family jewels.
"Nayan, Bacche, are you ready?" Meera, her mother, called from the door.
"Ji Maa Sa, almost done," Nayantara replied.
"My dear, you're looking absolutely stunning. My daughter has grown up so fast, and look how beautiful she's become," Meera said, tears welling in her eyes, overwhelmed by the sight of her little princess.
"Nayannn, you ready?" Ruhanika barged into the room. "OMG, Aaj toh Jiju Sa gaya kaam se!" she teased Nayantara. (OMG, Brother-in-law is done for today.)
Both ladies were busy admiring Nayantara when the rest of the family entered the room. Her father, Prithviraj, and Dada Sa were visibly emotional, seeing how quickly she had grown up. Her brothers also were protective as ever.
"Meri Bacchi aaj itni badi ho gayi," Prithviraj said emotionally. (My child has grown so big.)
The entire family shared a bittersweet moment. Nayantara, too, felt the gravity of the situation—soon, she would be leaving her home.
"Bas, I am not going anywhere today, please don't talk like that," she pouted, her eyes filling with tears.
"No one is going to make my Gudiya cry," her Dadi Sa said sternly, though her own emotions were evident.
