Rajveer's POV
Seeing the love of your life in pain is deeply unsettling. I haven't felt like myself since I dropped Tara home. I had always heard stories like these—they felt heartbreaking—but today, witnessing Tara's misery as she relived that nightmare completely shattered me.
I knew I had to change everything for her. Her tears answered so many unspoken questions. She is such a strong woman, and I'm proud of how far she has come. But I want to give her all the happiness in the world—and I will.
With a plan in mind, I reached out to my friend, DCP Mihir Rane, yesterday, and we arranged to meet today.
I waited for him at a café near the police station.
"Hey, brother! Long time," Mihir greeted warmly as he arrived.
"Yeah, bhai, it's been ages," I replied, pulling him into a bro hug.
"Alright, tell me what's on your mind," he said, cutting straight to the point.
I told him everything—about Tara, her sister's tragic disappearance, and how she was later found dead.
"That's horrifying. Poor Bhabhi Ji, she must be devastated," Mihir said empathetically when I finished.
"She is strong, but I can't even begin to imagine the inner trauma she must be going through," I said, my voice heavy with emotion.
"What's your plan?" he asked.
"I have one," I said with a smirk, outlining my idea in detail.
"That's a solid plan, but are you sure it'll work?" he asked skeptically.
"I can simply sit and wait for things to take it's course, Mihir. I have to protect Tara," I said softly.
We discussed the plan thoroughly before parting ways. The idea was to carry on with life as usual, showing no signs of being affected, to lure them out of hiding. Once they made a move, we'd catch them in the act. I asked Mihir to ensure Tara and the Ranawats had constant protection, with officers and guards dressed as civilians around them at all times.
Two days had passed since I last met Tara, and I was worried about her. She didn't know about the threats, but she had sensed something was wrong, especially when she knew that her father had spoken to me about the incident.
I called her to check in.
"Hey, sweetheart, how are you?" I asked as soon as she picked up.
"Hey, Jijss! I'm good. Thanks for calling me 'sweetheart.' I feel so special," Arjun replied teasingly from the other end.
"Ohh.. Urmm..Arjun? Where's Tara?" I asked, embarrassed.
"Di's busy with her beauty facial. She can't talk," he said, laughing.
"Oh, really? Let me video call," I said, chuckling.
I switched to video call mode.
"Jijss, look—Bhootttt!" Arjun exclaimed, turning the camera to Tara, who had a bubbly white face mask on.
"Arjun! I'll kill you!" Tara shouted, her voice a mix of frustration and embarrassment.
I couldn't stop laughing at their antics.
