Rajveer's POV
It has been over ten days since the incident. With my family and friends by my side every day, today I am finally getting discharged from the hospital. Relief mixed with joy filled my heart.
"Mera Sher Baccha," Dada Sa patted my head affectionately. (My fierce child)
"Next time, if you plan something like this, I want to know beforehand. You scared us to death," Maa Sa said, her voice trembling with emotion.
"Sorry, but it was about everyone's safety, and it all happened so suddenly," I explained, guilt weighing on my words.
"You are very bad, Bhai Sa! You could have involved me. I would have loved the action," Lakshay joked, earning a playful ear-pull from Maa Sa.
"Chup! Action chahiye aapko, yaha ghar ki koi fikar nahi." Maa Sa scolded, shaking her head. (Shut up! You want action while ignoring the family's worries.)
"Sorry, Maa Sa," Lakshay and I said in unison, exchanging sheepish looks.
"Accha, let's move. Maa Sa, Aditi, and Nayantara are waiting at home to welcome you," Baba Sa said warmly.
I couldn't help but blush at the thought of Tara waiting for me. The image of her smiling face filled my mind, bringing a sense of peace.
"If you're done imagining, shall we leave?" Lakshay teased, pulling me back to reality.
The discharge formalities were soon completed, and we headed home. Maa Sa and Baba Sa stopped by the temple on the way.
"All is well now?" Dada Sa asked, his voice gentle yet firm.
"Yes, Dada Sa. No more interruptions," I replied with a reassuring smile.
"You know what you did was brave, but if you had told me, I could have suggested a better way," he said thoughtfully.
"I know, but everything happened so fast. I didn't want to burden you," I admitted, lowering my gaze.
"Isn't Nayantara my granddaughter, just like Aditi?" Dada Sa asked.
"Yes, she is," I replied, smiling softly.
"Then, God forbid, if Aditi were in the same situation, would you have said the same thing?" he questioned.
"I would still have kept you all away," I said, understanding his point yet holding firm to my intentions.
"You are a foolish man," Dada Sa chuckled.
"Learned from the best," I laughed.
"What are you two laughing about?" Lakshay asked, sliding into the car.
"Nothing, just thinking about getting you married soon after I get married," I teased.
"Umm... What? To Who? Why?" he stammered, clearly taken aback.
"Calm down. He's just teasing you," Dada Sa assured him with a smile.
"Waise, no one will give you their daughter's hand in marriage. You're still a kid," I added playfully.
"I am not a kid!" Lakshay protested, puffing his chest out. He acts like a kid at time, but I know that he is ready for all the responsibilities.
Maa Sa and Baba Sa soon returned, and we proceeded home. The entrance was beautifully decorated, and everyone was waiting—Aditi, Dadi Sa, Gautam, Anjali, Rishabh, and Priyanshi. But my eyes searched for someone else.
