Nayantara POV

Finally, we are leaving today! I'm so excited for our first long trip together. We've had a few outings, but those were usually nearby. I have everything planned: scuba diving at Kalpeni Island, snorkeling at Agatti, canoeing at Minicoy, exploring the small islands nearby, kite surfing, beach walks, and immersing ourselves in the local culture. Wow, our trip may be short, but I'm certain it will be filled with wonderful memories.

I've organized every activity and added them to the itinerary. While I'm not someone who strictly adheres to a list, I do enjoy exploring. The list serves as a reference, but I'll ensure we complete everything on it.

Enough of my rambling about the trip; I need to leave soon and get my bags loaded into the car.

As I head downstairs, I find everyone waiting for me. It's evening, so everyone has returned from work.

"Beta, all set for the trip?" Baba Sa asked.

"Ji, I've packed everything, and Maa Sa has given me emergency meds as well," I replied. Do all mothers do this when their kids go on a trip alone? I wondered.

"Maa Sa and her medicines! Baap re, I still remember she gave me 15 strips of meds when I went on a two-day college trip," Karan Bhai Sa chuckled.

"Ah, I think Maa Sa loves me less; she only gave me 10 strips," I said, faking a pout.

"Chup karo, dono badmash bacche! I love everyone equally, and Karan has a weak stomach, hence the extra medicines," Maa Sa said, pulling our ears. (Shut up, you both, naughty kids.)

"Ouch, Maa Sa! Ab hamari shaadi ho gayi hai; ab toh kaan mat kheeche!" Karan Bhai Sa replied. (Ouch, Maa Sa! I'm married now, please atleast don't pull my ear.)

"No, no, Maa Sa, these two are the badmash; I'm the only innocent child in this house!" Arjun intervened.

"Chup! You are the naughtiest," Maa Sa chuckled as Arjun pouted.

"Haha, serves you right," I laughed.

"Bas karein, sab! Bitiya ja rahi ho?" Dadi Sa asked. (Stop it, everyone! Are you leaving, my dear?)

"Ji, Dadi Sa. Bas abhi ki flight hai; Kochi se phir connecting flight hai," I replied. (Yes, Dadi Sa. The flight is soon, and then a connecting flight from Kochi.)

"Dhyaan Rakhiyega, Bitiya," she continued. "Call or message when you reach the group, eat properly, and stay alert. If anything goes wrong, inform us." (Take care, dear.)

"Yes, my dear Dadi Sa! I'll keep everyone updated, and my location is always on. Baba Sa has given me a tracker for added safety. Don't worry," I said.

"Bas now, let her leave, or she'll miss her flight," Dada Sa said, caressing my head affectionately.

"Bye, everyone! I love you all. And miss me, okay?" I said as I hugged everyone and headed to the car.

Bhai Sa, Bhabhi Sa, and Arjun have come to drop me off at the airport. "Have loads of fun, Nayan!" Bhabhi Sa said.

"Yup, I wish you could have come too," I replied.

"Your brother can't live without me, can he?" She chuckled, as Karan Bhai Sa shot her a stink eye while Arjun and I laughed.
