Author's POV
Finally, the day of the wedding was here. The palace of Sindurgarh, or I should say the majestic palace of Sindurgarh, was decorated with flowers and lights. The tables were set with crystal dinnerware, the red carpet rolled all over the place, the mirror aisle for the Varmala was set, and the Mandap was adorned with flowers. White and pink carnations symbolized the purity, admiration, and calmness of the bond, along with orchids that screamed royalty and luxury. The Varmala was made of roses—red for passion, white for spiritual love, pink for joy, and yellow for friendship. The Varmala was intricately made, and the colors of the roses represented the bond they shared.
The palace wing where the wedding was taking place was a sun-downer, and the view just added to the charm of the aesthetics here. The wedding was a late afternoon affair. The Barat was welcomed, and everyone was dancing to the fullest. Rajveer was sitting on a mighty elephant, which was adorned with beautiful garlands of jasmine. The elephant was part of the palace procession, so it was friendly—or, as I can say, it knew its importance for the day. Rajveer on the elephant was screaming royalty. He looked so calm yet powerful in his ivory sherwani, with a red turban and a red shawl that was full of the craftsmanship of Rajasthani bandhani work, or bhandej as they call it. It was all perfect.
He looked stunning, and the glow on his face was so strong that he had a different, powerful yet calm aura around him. The people who were there to witness the union felt a different kind of divine energy at the palace.
On the other hand, our lovely Nayantara was looking gorgeous, and like Rajveer, she too had a glow on her face that screamed power. She was looking like the well-deserved future Queen of Adipur. She had worn a traditional Bandhej saree, but the way she draped it was unlike a saree. She had draped it over a red plain lehenga, and the saree looked fuller, but it hugged her like it was meant for her. The red Bandhej saree with a heavy border looked glorious on her, and she had traditional Marwadi jewelry, silently screaming royalty. She sat near the mirror as her to-be mother-in-law came into the room.
"Hayeee, meri pyaari bacchi, kitni sundar lag rahi ho," Mandira said, as she warded off any evil from Nayantara. (Ohh, my dear child, you look so pretty.)
"Maa Sa," Nayantara exclaimed, seeing her.
"Hum aapko yeh haar dene aaye hain, isse zaroor pehenna, yeh hamara riwaz hai," Mandira said, caressing her head affectionately. (I have come to give you this necklace, please wear this, it's a ritual.)
"Thank you, Maa Sa," Nayantara chirped at the love and care her mother-in-law was showering on her.
"Aaj toh hamare bete ki khair nahi," Mandira teased. (My son is done for today.)
Nayantara blushed at her words. She was a bit excited to see his reaction but still nervous about the responsibilities that followed. Mandira, as if understanding her dilemma, patted her head lovingly.
"Beta, I know words won't be able to calm the storm in your mind, but I will always be there to support you, wherever and whenever you need. Just come to me, and I am all yours, just like your mother," she said, sensing her inner turmoil.
Nayantara was overwhelmed by the words. She just couldn't respond. New tears formed in the corner of her eye, and all she could do was whisper a small "Thank you."
