Nayantara's POV
I was incredibly happy to have such a wonderful family. The elders from both sides played a prank on us, but unfortunately, it was Veer who had to bear the brunt.
They orchestrated a scheme to scare us by pretending they wouldn't accept our relationship. I was already anxious about their decision, but the way Dada Sa described his family's response shattered me.
I locked myself in my room and cried my heart out. My poor family had to abandon their prank upon seeing me like this and trust me when I say this, I was RELIEVED, it was as if a stone kept on my chest was lifted.
I though felt sad that I couldn't tell Veer about the prank, yet I also wanted to see his reaction. He looked so adorable when he saw me sitting on the stage, utterly spellbound, and I relished every moment. He looked incredibly hot and handsome in the kurta he wore, and I loved how both Maa Sa's had planned for us to match in the same color.
"By the way, I'm surprised and hurt that you came here to meet another girl your family set you up with," I teased Veer, pouting playfully.
"Nooo, don't say that! I could never imagine being with anyone else. They were pressuring me, so I thought I'd come and explain everything to the girl," he said, panic evident in his voice as he realized I might feel hurt.
"But what if she said yes, even after knowing the story?" I continued my playful drama.
"Hey... baby, I can't even bear to imagine that," he replied, looking deeply into my eyes with such sincerity that I couldn't continue the act and burst into laughter.
"You naughty girl," he said, side-hugging me and kissing my temple as I blushed and he grinned.
"Ahem, you may be my soon to be Jiju Sa, but please maintain some distance until the wedding," Arjun grumbled.
"Oops, too much drama," Aditi giggled and I joined.
"Relax, it's just a matter of a few weeks," Lakshay teased, while Arjun sulked even more.
Veer glanced at Lakshay and smiled broadly at Arjun. "Don't worry, I'll keep my distance," he said, and I couldn't help but sigh at how this man continued to win me over.
Later, after dinner, we sat in the garden discussing how to break the news to our friends.
"Um... I haven't thought about how we should tell everyone," I admitted, feeling confused about the best approach.
"I think you should post it on Instagram," Aditi suggested.
"No, Adi, that's for later. For now, we have to break it to our best friends without getting killed," Veer chuckled.
"I know; they're going to taunt us until we die," I sighed. I loved my friends and wanted them to be part of this, but given the sudden developments with our families, I felt an overwhelming sense of guilt about not involving them.
"Let's prank them," Veer said with a mischievous smile.
"How?" I asked, intrigued.
"Just follow my lead," he replied, pulling out his phone.
