Nayantara's POV
I am still confused about what to do. What his sister said—was it really true? If it is, then I shouldn't interfere in someone else's love story.
I was lost in thought when Ruhi Bhabhi Sa came into my room. "What are you thinking about? All good?" she asked, concerned.
"Ji, just a bit confused about something," I replied.
"Do you want to share?" she prompted again.
"Actually, when Aditi came to my room after dinner, she said something about Rajveer Ji that has left me really confused," I explained.
"Tell me everything—what did she say?" she asked, her worry evident.
"She mentioned that he's not happy with the marriage. He tried to deny it, but his family pressured him. She also hinted that he might have someone else but is too shy to bring it up," I sighed.
"Did you sense that he wasn't fully invested in this marriage when you were alone together?" she asked.
"No, that's the confusing part. He could have told me about it. Maybe he was just happy to see an old friend, or perhaps he wasn't comfortable sharing that with me," I said, uncertain.
"Bacche, you're unsure about everything. Why create scenarios in your head? Just ask him directly to clear things up. And remember, Aditi is younger; she might have misunderstood his nervousness as sadness. Don't make the same mistake—talk to him and clarify," Bhabhi explained.
"Ji, I'll do that," I said, feeling a bit clearer.
Later, I met Anjali and Priyanshi at a café, where I shared my dilemma.
"I'm not entirely sure, but I overheard Gautam talking to Rajveer and Rishabh about some plans before he came to meet you," Anjali said.
"So, you think he really has someone?" Priyanshi asked.
"I don't know. Should I ask Gautam?" Anjali looked at me, seeking my input.
"I think it might be better to ask him for Rajveer's number. I'd prefer to talk to him face to face rather than through whispers," I suggested.
"Okay, I'll ask him to forward the number," she agreed.
As we were leaving the café, we ran into a few old friends from school. After chatting, we were heading to the car when I spotted Rajveer.
"Guys, look over there—Rajveer's here!" I said, drawing their attention.
"Oh, it seems he has some company," Priyanshi noted.
"I've seen that girl somewhere," Anjali remarked, confused. "Oh yes, I remember! I saw her with Rajveer when he was in Mumbai."
"Should I go talk to him?" I asked.
"He seems busy with her," Priyanshi replied, uncertain.
"Maybe she's the girl. I've seen her in many of Rajveer's Instagram stories—she's always there with him," Anjali said.
"She could also just be a friend," I said, my confidence wavering.
I approached them, but as I got closer, Rajveer stood up and walked away. I decided to wait, but then I accidentally bumped into someone, causing my purse to fall. As I apologized and gathered my things, I overheard the girl talking on the phone.
"Yes, he agreed! Thank God! Finally, I'm getting married. I've been waiting so long," she said.
I was shocked. So what Aditi said was true—he really had someone in his life. I rushed back to the car where my friends were waiting.
"What happened?" they both asked.
"That girl—she was his girlfriend, and he's getting married to her. I heard her say it," I replied with a straight face.
"Are you sure this time?" Priyanshi asked.
"Yes, I heard it clearly. I'm happy for him—he will get his love," I said.
"But what about you, Nayan?" Anjali pressed.
"Nothing—don't worry about me," I replied. "I just wish him happiness and hope he stays in touch."
Later that evening, I returned home. Maa Sa and Dadi Sa called me to the terrace, our favorite spot for female gossip.
As I reached the terrace, all the Ranawat ladies were waiting for me. "Kya baat, aaj kiss baat pe charcha?" I asked, smiling. (What's going on? What's today's hot topic of discussion?)
"Hamari Laado ki shaadi," Dadi Sa replied, chuckling. (Our Sweetheart's Marriage.)
My smile faded. "Par, unhe nahi karni," I whispered. (But he doesn't want to.)
"What did you say?" Maa Sa asked.
"Nothing, it's just that I don't want to marry him; we don't match, Maa Sa," I replied.
"Are you sure?" Bhabhi Sa inquired, while Maa Sa and Dadi Sa looked at me intently.
"Yes, I'm sure. Please postpone the marriage discussion for now. Just give me some time for myself," I said, smiling at them.
Soon, Dadi Sa and Maa Sa left to inform the men of the house. Bhabhi Sa stayed with me.
"Nayan, did you talk to him about this?" she asked, uncertain.
"I didn't need to. Everything became clear," I replied, sharing my experience.
"Oh, but I still don't feel good about this decision," she said.
We sat in silence for a while before heading back downstairs. Everyone again asked about my final decision, then proceeded to update the Shekhawat's about it.
'Chalo Bhyi Nayan, ab focus on your upcoming trip,' I told myself. This trip is my only hope for changing my mood and diverting my mind from this unnecessary drama.
I began packing my bag for our long weekend trip in four days and messaged the group about the updates. I'm really excited about our trip now. Let's see how it goes. As for the marriage, I've left everything to destiny and my family. They will find suitable grooms, and destiny will choose the best for me.
Who was that café girl? Is Rajveer getting married? He never hinted at it. Could this be yet another misunderstanding, or is there something more to uncover?
