I hear a beep , I look at the screen on my phone it is a number I don't know
". Beth I will call you later I have a beep"
" hi" I say
" Hi Mia this Mr.Rogan " I hear
I almost drop the phone why would Max's dad call me
" Um hi " I say
" I need to speak to you can you meet me at 1470 bell Mont st it is a coffee house " he demands
" iii guess " I stutter
" ok I am headed there now and also don't Metion it to Max understand " he says
" ok " I answer him
Why don't he want me to tell Max
Why I am so scared?
I am scared but I have to go and figure out what he wants
But I remember what he did to Max just to keep us apart so my eyes are wide open.
When I arrive I don't see Max's father so I take a seat and a waitress come for my order I get a Frappuccino.
About 12 mins later still no Max's father and my Frappuccino is half way gone .
Finally I hear the door open I look back and I see
Max's father walk in
He has on a suit .
He don't mind showing he has money the man just screams be intimidated by me .
" Hi dear "he says to me
The he snaps his fingers and gets the waitress's attention
" here for her drink and whatever else she wants ",he commands and hands her his debit card
" I don't want nothing else thank you though"!I tell him
" I will be over ther in the booth " I hear
I look and see it is Brody
What is going on ?
Why would Brody being here ?
" ok Brody " Mr. Rogan says
" well I know you don't want me here where you can buy me a Frappuccino, so what is it that you want " I say
" Well I want you to do what you are supposed and to be happy when you are my daughter in law " he says
What ?

" Daughter in law what exactly are you saying "
I ask
" I want you to marry my son not right now but when the time is right "he says
I am so confused why would he even bring this up
" here is the situation, Max is planning on going to collage wherever you go which is PRINCTION right " he asks
Wow I still feel a ping of hurt at the sound of PRINCTION , it has been so long but it still hurts
" I have not made up my mind where I am going to collage at " I say and I hear my voice crack
" ok well either way what I am about to say applies,
If you want to marry him in the future then break up with him now " he tells me
" what break up " I exclaim
" it may not make sense now but if you stay with him and he is in love you he will not concentrate on baseball all he ever wanted and he will resent you " he tells me
I breathe out this man is trying to break us up
" I know this 1 st hand me and my wife who I have always loved but I chosed her over baseball and I end up resenting her and I know we worked things out but for years I didn't treat her good we almost divorced last year and we was separated in house for months at a time " he tells me
" I am not saying that that will happen but it is a very big possibility it is not forever just until after he makes it " he says
" so after collage but then there is pro " I say rudely
" the average baseball player retires at 35 " he informs me
I feel my heart break and race at the same time .
" you want me to break up with him and wait until he has retired. I mean that is half of our lives " I yelll
" now Mia there is no reason to raise your voice" he warns
This is crazy I feel like I am in a bad dream
" I know you want him to do good and this is the only way " he says
" the only way is for us not to be together, we love each other " I say
" I know but if you hold him back that love will turn to despise " he says and his words scare me
" it won't be forever if you are truly meant to be then you will be " he tells me
" but he will find someone else " I say and the tears roll down my face.
" I repeat if your meant to be then you will be" he repeats
He gets up and leaves ,
I stay there and think I am I hurting Max chances of his dream career?
