It is hot and sticky out tonight . The only reason I came was to see if Mia and Dexter are together, I know I shouldn't care but I do . If they are I will not stand in the way , I will be happy for her , well in a way but I know it will make me sad too . Nathan hands me a beer and I take a sip , then I see her . The breathe has been knocked out of me .
I hate she is here with a Bikini top on but if she is dating Dexter than he will watch out for her . Dexter is behind Mia and her 2 friends . But he is not holding her hand or having his arm around her . When I was with her I couldn't keep my hands off of her . I have to stop thinking about that time .
I join in some stupid conversations having my eyes on Mia the whole time . She never acknowledges me being there . She is sitting next to Dexter or least half of the time , the other have he is with his pal Marco . I hate that Marco and Dexter are close if Mia is going to be be around Dexter .
" Well stranger "
I hear a scratchy voice say I look up to find Michelle . She sits next me and puts her hand on my knee . I move it . Really I thought this girl got the drift last year I want nothing to do with her .
" Why do you act like you hate me ? " she asks
" Who says I am acting ." I answer
She rolls her eyes like it couldn't possibly be true . I am still looking at Mia and I still don't know if there is something going on with them . I want to ask Michelle I know she knows every gossip there is to know , but I just can't ask her . So I decided to go a casual way around it .
" Michelle is there any new boyfriends and girlfriends around here ?" I ask
She names a list but she never mentions Mia . Then I see her get up to get a refill . Neither of her friends is with her so maybe I can feel this out . I get up without excuseing myself and leave Michelle talking to herself .
I walk to where Mia is .
" How do you like the Bonfire ?" I ask
She jumps back as if I scared her . She looks at me for good long hard awkward second .
" I am having a nice time ." She answer
" It seems you are to ." She adds and nods over toward where Michelle is . So I guess she did notice me after all .
I don't want to hurt her but if I am not stern with her she may get the wrong impression.
" Michelle is always fun " I say
She just looks at me shakes her head and walks off . I deserve that I really deserved to be slapped .
I am not going to figure anything out I don't want to be here I am just need to leave . So I turn to leave , when someone pulls me back by my shoulder .
As I am turned around I realize it is Dexter .
" Is it really necessary to be rude to her man can't you coexist with her ." He asks
" I wasn't I just said Michelle is fun ." I say
" You shouldn't rub it in ." He says
" I didn't I am not with Michelle or anything ." I say
" Look Dexter I didn't mean to hurt your girlfriend's feelings " I say
" Girlfriend me and Mia is only friends but I know all about you so stay away from her she don't deserve to be hurt ." He says and walks away .
They are not together I am so relieved.!!!!!
