"Grandma..." Lucas sat down on the chair beside the bed, holding the old madam's hand worriedly. "What did she do this time to faint?"
"The doctors said she is fine but needed enough rest," Butler Fu explained to Jennie and Lucas as they just arrived in the old residence. "Therefore, you don't have to worry."
Lucas didn't look at him as he cradled his grandmother's hand. Meanwhile, Jennie, who was sitting on the edge of the bed near Grandma Manoban's feet, cast Butler Fu a look.
"Thank you, Butler Fu." Jennie sported a short smile, turning her head at Lucas and then at Grandma Manoban. The latter was sleeping soundlessly, and by the look of it, she seemed genuinely fine. It was as if she was just sleeping. Her complexion was also good. Therefore, Jennie felt a little at ease.
Still...
"Lucas, can you look after Grandma?" she inquired, earning Lucas's attention.
"Why?" he asked out of instinct. "Where are you going?"
"I'll just change." Jennie nodded at him slightly. "I'll join you in a bit."
"Uh.. alright?" Lucas rocked his head before turning his head back to Butler Fu. "Butler Fu, can you ask someone to help me move the couch? I'll stay with Grandma today."
Butler Fu smiled at him. "The Madam might not like it, but alright. I'll call someone immediately." He lowered his head, bowing at them.
With that being said, Butler Fu walked away from the old madam's room, leaving Jennie and Lucas behind. Jennie idled for a moment, making sure Grandma Manoban was tucked properly before excusing herself. Lucas didn't say much, telling her to take her time.

Jennie closed the door cautiously, turning her head to the hallway where Butler Fu was standing. The latter immediately held her gaze, standing still until she walked past him. Butler Fu then followed, keeping a step behind her.
"What happened to Grandma?" she asked as her expression slowly turned sharp.
"The Madam told me not to tell anyone except you," he confessed solemnly, catching her glance over her shoulder. "Sir Eric came to visit her today."
Eric.
'I knew it.' Jennie snapped her eyes ahead, not surprised by this. "Did he do anything to Grandma?"
"No, but it seemed he said something to her." Butler Fu pressed his lips into a thin line as regret flickered across his eyes, lowering his gaze. "The Madam told me to go out when Sir Eric requested to talk to her, so I didn't get to hear their entire conversation. However, I'm certain he said something to anger her."
"That fuck —" Jennie bit her tongue, slapping her mouth as she almost cursed. "As much as possible, I didn't want to stress myself out as it affects my baby. But someone needs to put him in his place."
"The Old Madam specifically told me not to let the young master know about this." Butler Fu sighed.
This time, Jennie stopped and looked back at him. "When she said except me, does that mean I am the only person she wanted to know about this?"
"Yes." Butler Fu also stopped. "Even I am confused, young madam. She also said she was sorry for dragging you into this family matter in your condition."
"Haha." Jennie couldn't help but chuckle. "If Grandma is truly sorry, she wouldn't even tell me."
She shook her head, peeling her gaze from him, and resumed in her tracks. Despite her previous remarks, Jennie didn't feel the slightest displeasure about it. If anything, she appreciated Grandma Manoban was dragging her in this family matter. Lisa already had a lot on his plate, and Eric could just be trying to divert Lisa's attention.
"Grandma always says I am and will always be a part of this family," she remarked after a moment, taking a turn at the end of the hallway. "So, apologizing is more insulting on my part."
"I see..." Butler Fu rocked his head, only to notice the way they were taking. "Young Madam, weren't you going to change?"
"You believe that?" Jennie let out a chuckle, not slowing down on her way to the greenhouse. "I told Mercy I'll come to her once I return. Moreover, isn't it almost dinner time for her?"
The corner of her mouth curled up into a smirk, eyes glinting deviously. Meanwhile, Butler Fu could only stare at her back. Even though he couldn't see the look on her face right now, he could feel this young lady was up to something.

[NORTH WING OF THE OLD RESIDENCE]
The old residence was already more vast than one could imagine. However, one of the most amazing traits of this residence was the massive lot surrounding it. It's probably the only good thing Eric could think of about this place, giving him enough space to workout around the huge back driveway of the residence instead of getting suffocated by the indoor gym.
"Hah..." Eric panted, his face red as sweat covered him from head to toe. He checked his smartwatch on instinct, wiping his mouth with the collar of his shirt.
'I think I worked out too early,' he thought, thinking he was already done a few laps earlier than his usual routine. 'Well, this gives me more time to waste later.'
Eric dropped his hand and turned his head in the pavilion's direction, where he would usually meditate as part of his workout routine. However, just as he did, someone was already idling in the pavilion that was situated near the mansion.
"What is she doing here?" he furrowed his brows, seeing Jennie waved at him as if they truly had a friendly relationship. "Hah... she's really baffling. I didn't expect her to see me after my warning, but I guess she's what I heard she was."
His eyes glinted as he smirked. "Interesting."
Just as Eric took a step from his vantage point, he heard a hard rustle from the nearby bush. Most of the time, he would ignore such a noise. However, there was something that compelled him to turn his head toward the sound.
Rustle.
As soon as Eric's eyes fell on the bush, his pupils dilated at the big black cat sauntering from behind it.
"Hah..." he let out an airy chuckle, snapping his eyes back to the pavilion. "... that crazy bitch."
Grrr...
"Go, cousin~! Woohoo!" Jennie cheered, giggling from the pavilion as she enjoyed her watermelon while watching Eric get chased by Mercy.
