As mentioned in the past, Lisa cut ties with countless people for his own and his family's security. That included people who were already in the company. Thankfully, none in the company was caught embezzling or conducting corrupt practices. Even so, their other actions outside the company were enough for Lisa to scheme behind their back so they had to give up their shares and connection with the LYON Group.

And because of that, new people were able to be a part of the board of directors. One of them was Eric Manoban and then a man named Mr. B.

Jennie smiled at the thought. Today was the day Lisa would introduce the new members of the board, and thus, she wanted to be there to congratulate everyone.

"Now that I think about it, I've never been in the Lyon Group," she murmured, eyes on the window. "I bet he'd be surprised if I visited him."

In the past, Lisa would casually tell her to drop by the office if she wanted to. After all, the penthouse where they moved in months ago was only a few minutes' drive. However, Jennie simply nodded but never went to the company. She didn't even know the real reason she didn't listen to him, but she already blamed her schedule at that time.

"You didn't tell him that you're coming?" After another minute, Bear looked back at the back seat from the front passenger seat. "Should I let him know?"

"Then it wouldn't be a surprise if you do."

"..." Bear raised his brows, lips shut into a tight slash. "Are you sure?"

"Mhm." Jennie nodded, tilting her head to the side at the strange question from Bear. "Why wouldn't I be? It's not like I'm going on a mission. I'm just going to visit my husband and congratulate him on this new era of our family's bread and butter."

"Well." Bear shrugged, thinking seeing Lisa without a prior appointment was close to impossible. But then again, Jennie was the wife. Therefore, she would surely have no problem meeting her husband. There was nothing to worry about.

"Whatever floats your boat, boss." Bear settled in his seat in the front passenger seat, glancing at the person in the driver's seat.

Mark didn't say anything as he focused on the highway ahead. Bear was the one who dragged him here while Princess stayed behind to look after the old residence. Jennie left Miracle in Dara's care and, since Jevin was there, she was reassured her children would be fine.

"By the way, Mark, have you checked Eric?" After another minute of silence, Jennie's pierced the air. "About that truckload of gifts he sent for Jevy and Miracle."

Mark didn't answer immediately as he glanced at the rear mirror. "Are you really Jane?" he asked instead of answering her query.

"Mark, are you still suspicious?"

"Well... we really hadn't talked about it..."

"Yes, I am. If not, then I wouldn't say the other truckload of gifts came from Irene instead of you."

Mark glanced at the rear mirror again, only to see the deadpan expression on Jennie's face. He cleared his throat, setting his eyes on the road.

"It's weird," he murmured. "I'm still not used to it."

"You'll get used to it soon." Bear chuckled, relating to Mark's feelings at the moment. "I was like that when I found out. After all, we cannot deny it's strange to see her in this new face."

"Are you saying I'm ugly right now?" Jennie gasped. "Or do you think Jennie is much prettier than I am?"

"That's not what I meant." Bear cleared his throat, knowing this was a sensitive topic they shouldn't touch. Ever. "Anyway, had you investigated Eric, Mark? It's still weird that Eric would make an effort unless, of course, he truly wanted to spoil the children, which I highly doubt."

"Well, according to my investigation, Eric Manoban snuck a few containers into the country not long ago." Mark cleared his throat as he summarized his own investigation of the matter.

Lisa was being careful with his approach thus, Bear approached him to conduct a separate investigation. As expected, Bear was acting under Jennie's orders.

"If we use common sense, those containers are too much for just a truckload. They would need a few more," he added in a knowing tone. "What I'm saying is, the toys were just a front to conceal his true intention. What is the real content of those containers? I didn't get to know, since the security was tight and Eric was a sneaky bastard. But if we consider what sort of business he was affiliated with, we can have a guess."

Drugs.

Right now, Eric's bread and butter were distributing drugs in the country. It was his main source of income, which explained his wealth at the moment.

"Now that I think about it, Primo seemed to have planned to kill the Red Scorpion Gang," she hummed, rubbing her chin mildly.

"Tiger had a theory." This time, Bear broke his silence. "We didn't tell you because you were with a child back then. Your husband probably forgot to mention."

"What theory?"

"The Red Scorpion Gang was connected with different businesses including lending services, protection, and even drugs," Bear stressed each of his words, glancing over his shoulder. "It was true that Riley's parents had a debt to this gang, but based on their actions, they also showed interest in the little master."

"What I'm saying is, Primo's role probably lured this gang into this mess. If he killed this gang, then his competition in the drug market would be reduced. The Red Scorpion might be small, but these guys almost controlled half of the market. Which explained their fund in their lending business," he continued in a stern voice. "We already know Primo had this unexplained obsession with your husband. In other words, if Lisa died alongside the Red Scorpion that night, it's like hitting two birds with one stone."

"Tiger can vouch that the gang members didn't know about the bombs planted in the building," added Bear, eyes on the road. "Primo Rossi... or No One is truly a sly bastard. Even if he was caught, I'm certain he would walk away free because all the evidence pointed at the gang and Riley's family debt. If we followed the laws and based on all this evidence, then it would appear the little master and your in-laws were simply dragged into it. "

"What a sly fox, indeed." Jennie leaned back, eyes on the window. "It's okay. I'll get him soon... the moment he comes out of his den, I'll drag him back to the hell where he belongs."

Mark pressed his lips into a thin line, glancing at the rear mirror. Looking at Jennie's side profile, all he could see was the sharpness on her face.

'This brings back some memories,' he thought, shifting his attention to the road ahead. 'Bear and Boss were always like this, using their travel time to talk about important stuff. But No One, huh? Where did I hear that alias again?' — obviously, in the underground. However, Mark felt like he was forgetting something important, leaving his heart a little restless.
