No one knew how tiring and draining the past three days were for Lisa. The man barely slept, taking part in the investigation and the root of this abduction. Through these three days, Lisa could barely check on his family, all admitted to the hospital. The only person who wasn't admitted to the hospital was Grandma Manoban.

The irony.

'These past three days...' Lisa's train of thoughts trailed off as he gazed at his son, who was sleeping soundlessly on this quiet night. He slowly reached for Jevin's hand, clasping it with gentleness and affection.

"I'm sorry, Jevy," he whispered. "That your dad... is really pathetic."

The corner of his mouth curled up bitterly, closing his eyes as he rested his forehead on the back of his son's hand. Although Jevin was out of harm's way, his son was injured heavily. The doctors told him it was good that Jevin got treated immediately, and that Marco shielded the boy from the accident. It didn't make Lisa less pathetic.

This all happened because of him.

This was not a part of self-pitying, but it was a fact. Some people wanted him dead, even when the investigation said otherwise.

"Hah..." Lisa raised his head, holding his son's hand to his cheek, eyes on Jevin. "You will be okay."

He extended his other hand, brushing Jevin's head gently. "We will be." He smiled, nodding at Jevin reassuringly.

Lisa stayed in his son's own private ward for hours. This had been his bedroom. The only place he would stay before leaving to deal with stuff that needed to be dealt with.

Meanwhile, in Jennie's private ward, she sat on the bed with her back resting against the headboard. It had been three days since the abduction and ever since then, the only visitor she had was Lucas. Lucas was also a patient, but he wasn't injured and wasn't on bedrest just like her.

"Three days..." she mumbled to herself, staring at her fingers that were playing with each other. "... why hadn't he come?"

Jennie would receive news from Lucas, giving her updates about anything he could get from outside. Since she was strictly advised to rest, she hadn't visited Jevin. Therefore, Lucas would come and go, almost splitting himself into two just to give his nephew and sister-in-law his time.

But Lisa never showed up to her.

Lucas told her his brother was busy, but knowing her husband, he would make time for her. No matter how busy Lisa was, he would always make time for her. That was what the Lisa she knew.

'Am I just being needy?' she wondered, telling herself it was possible for Lisa to be so busy. Considering what happened and that his family was all admitted to the hospital, Lisa had to work hard to fix the mess that this incident created. But a part of her couldn't help but wonder if the reason he hadn't visited her was because of the truth.

The truth of how she could use guns and take enemies down so easily? And how she knew about Joker? There were more questions she was expecting from him. Thus, every second without a word from him increased her anxiety.

"Just... what is he thinking right now?" she whispered, perking up when she heard a knock on the door. Jennie instantly turned her head, eyes sparkling at the thought of Lisa finally coming. But alas, when Bear peeked his head in, the smile on her face faded.

"Oh, it's you," she muttered unenthusiastically, leaning back once again as she watched Bear close the door behind him.

Bear marched to the bed she was lying in, sitting on the chair beside the bed. "How are you?" was the first question he asked.

"As you can see, I am alive." Jennie shrugged. "It seems you're okay. I'm glad to see you after three days."

"It was crazy outside." He kept his explanation short, as that was already obvious. "I was arrested for raiding a gang's base, but fortunately, your husband bailed me out after an hour."

"I see..." Jennie nodded with disinterest, as she already guessed what happened. "How's my husband?"

"He's barely sleeping."

"So, he's that busy, huh?"

"Assistant Kim was also hospitalized. Although he didn't have any serious injuries, he still had to stay in for a few days. He'll get back to work tomorrow if my memory serves correct."

"I see. So that's why." Jennie wanted to sigh in relief upon hearing that Lisa had to work all on his own for the past three days. However, this wasn't enough to get rid of the anxiety dominating half of her heart. "Did he say anything to you?"

"Like?" Bear tilted his head to the side. "Like, how can you do what you did?"

Jennie glanced at him, lips shut tight.

"No, he didn't." Bear shook his head. "I don't think he got the time to entertain anything like that for now, and even if he has questions like that, I'm sure I'm not the person he will ask."

Lisa was a straightforward man, and Jennie was well aware of that. If he had questions for his wife, he would ask his wife about it. He wouldn't ask people around, as that wasn't Lisa's personality.

"Boss." Bear took a deliberate pause, sighing deeply. "You have to tell him. He deserved to know the truth."

"I know." Jennie pressed her lips into a thin line as she gazed down. "He deserves to know the truth... even if he doesn't ask. But... will he believe me?"

She snapped her eyes back to Bear ever so slowly. "When you started having doubts about me, what did you feel, Bear?"

A moment of silence descended on their shoulders as the two of them stared at each other. What did he feel back then? To be honest, Bear couldn't put it in words. But for sure, there was denial in those many emotions in his heart back then.

The truth wasn't something one would easily accept, after all. The problem was that this same truth was a different case to Lisa. After all, Bear only had to accept this mysterious phenomenon that occurred to his previous boss. Lisa, on the other hand, had to face the truth that his wife or the person inside his wife's body was actually an entirely different individual.
