The lunch with Jennie's friends rolled in in a blink of an eye. Lisa did all the preparations so his wife didn't have to exhaust herself. Although Jennie insisted on helping in the kitchen instead.

"Haha!" Director Guan and the rest shared a good laugh after a shared funny story. "Anyway, we're all glad that you are fine, Jennie. You have no idea how worried we were."

Jennie smiled sweetly at the man across from her. "Director Guan, thank you for being patient. I know you tried visiting me, but things were a little complicated."

"It's fine." Director Guan waved dismissively. "I understand that Mr. Manoban is simply looking after his wife."

Director Guan slowly turned his head to the seat next to Jennie, smiling. Lisa lifted his gaze up, making Director Guan gulp.

"Anyway, when will the film be released?" Director Guan turned his head back to Jennie at the latter's inquiry. "Although I heard the filming already ended, I hadn't heard from anyone when is the premier night."

"Hehe. It's because the movie went through a thorough inspection before it was given a rating. Even my most controversial film didn't have to get through such a process." Director Guan sighed, shaking his head before offering Jennie a wry smile. "I only received good news the other day — that day I messaged you is the same time I got the release date."

"Oh?"

"It'll be in one month from now, so everyone will be busy with the promotion. The time allotted to us is quite short, but we're all determined." Director Guan smacked his lips, leaning his arms against the table. "Actually, Jennie, that's one of the reasons I wanted to meet you."

He pressed his lips, glancing at Lisa Manoban cautiously. Director Guan then glanced at the people who came to visit Jennie with him, casting them a knowing look. All of them then set their eyes back to Jennie, making the latter's brows rise.

"Haha." Jennie chuckled at the hungry look on their faces. Yet no one dared speak of what their eyes were screaming. "How will I know what you want if you don't tell me? I can't reject or agree if you just look at me like that."

That was easy... if not for Lisa being in here.

Director Guan cleared his throat, elbowing Kim Hanbin, who was sitting beside him. Hanbin, however, pretended he wasn't getting the director's hints. Seeing that Hanbin was avoiding such a task, Director Guan glared at the rest. However, all of them looked away, eating and complimenting the dishes on their plates.

'These...!' Director Guan mentally ground his teeth, balling his hands underneath the table.

Surely, these guys were being too comfortable with him! Didn't they promise they would relay the message to Jennie and get scolded by Lisa in case the man disliked the idea? How come he was being used as a scapegoat now?

"Uh..." Director Guan drew a deep breath and huffed, lifting his hand and resting it against the table again. "Jennie, with that being said, can you help us promote the movie? I mean, we already made posters for the movie which will be sent out today. It'll be nice if you can come to at least one conference and post it on your social media."

"Hmm..." Jennie rubbed her chin mildly, humming a long tune.

She already had an idea of what Director Guan would ask her. After all, Jennie's social influence and fandom were solid. Therefore, promoting her first movie after a long hiatus would surely help.

'Gosh... I thought he already changed,' Jennie mentally humored, chuckling at Director Guan's fakery. 'But I guess my husband is really scary.'

If not for Lisa, Director Guan wouldn't even hesitate to command Jennie to promote the movie. He wouldn't even bother using all the polite terms he could think of and would just bluntly tell her the reason. However, her husband, with such high standing in the upper echelon, was just right beside her. Therefore, Director Guan was being overly careful.

"Well..." Wanting to tease Director Guan, Jennie turned her head to her side. "Darling, what do you think? Should I attend at least one conference?"

Lisa had been quiet throughout. The only time he spoke was when he greeted her friends and when Director Guan asked him questions, which he would answer with short responses, with no opening for longer conversations. That was why the second their eyes met, Director Guan swallowed a mouthful of air.

"I mean... It's not mandatory, Mr. Manoban." Director Guan chuckled nervously. "I'm just trying my luck, but no pressure."

"That decision is not mine to make," said Lisa monotonously, reaching his hand to Jennie's. He turned his head to her, offering her a loving smile. "As long as you think it won't tire you out so much and won't be harmful to your condition, then I support whatever decision you make."

This wasn't the first time he would say such remarks, but somehow, her cheek blushed. She smiled brightly, facing Director Guan, and then glossed her eyes over at everyone's faces.

"I'll think about it, Director Guan." Jennie settled her eyes on the director, nodding at him reassuringly. "But for sure, you'll hear my answer days before the conference. I can post the poster, though."

"Oh..." Director Guan rocked his head, telling himself he should be content with that. However, a question naturally rolled out of his tongue and before he realized it, he already asked;

"Jennie, can I ask why can't you attend even one mall show or conference? Are you still sick?"

Director Guan bit his tongue and held his breath, eyes slowly going wide upon realization. His first instinct was to check on Lisa, only to see him smiling at his wife while holding her hand.

This wasn't the look of a husband who had a sick wife.

'Huh?' Director Guan furrowed his brows, darting his eyes between the husband and wife. "Jennie, Mr. Manoban... don't tell me..."

Jennie chuckled, covering her lips with the back of her hand. "Yes, Director Guan. I'm pregnant with our second child."

GASP!

Director Guan gasped, covering his mouth with both his hands. Meanwhile, the people with him looked at Jennie in utter surprise, except for Kim Hanbin.

"Oh, my!" Director Guan rose from his chair, spreading his arm as he walked around the table. "Congratulations, dear!"

"Haha. Thank you, Director Guan."

As Jennie and Director Guan exchanged pleasantries, with the latter praising Lisa to high heavens from time to time, Kim Hanbin maintained a subtle smile at his first love.
