Princess sat on the edge of the bed, still wearing her suit, even though she had already clocked out. In her hand was a small bracelet she used to wear when she was a kid. She rubbed it with her thumb, staring at it affectionately because such a thing brought back many wonderful memories in the past.
Other people would say their treasures were gold, real estate, and wealth. But for her, this simple old bracelet was her most treasured item.
Since this bracelet was something she received at a young age, she only wore it for a few years until it could no longer fit her. Therefore, she would carry it around as a pendant or sometimes just keep it safely in her room.
"I used to hate her back then," she whispered with soft eyes. "Even until now, she gets on my nerves."
Thinking of the past, Jane was truly a reckless and stubborn one. She was annoying... but at the same time, too precious to hate. No matter how many hateful and mean things Princess said in the past, Jane would keep coming back to her. She was truly a persistent young girl.
'So... I'm not surprised she cheated death.' A short and airy chuckle slipped past Princess, lips closed, head shaking. "She's that persistent. What a woman, indeed."
It wasn't easy to accept the truth. No one in their sound mind would blindly believe that a dead person would come back to life but as another person. Even if this phenomenon was told to Jane, she would just laugh it off. There was no such thing as that sort of miracle. That wasn't even a miracle, but a fantasy, a wishful and foolish dream.
This was something beyond human comprehension that even the greatest genius alive wouldn't find answers to. However, it had been months since Jennie had confessed. Back then, her stomach was still flat and now, she had already given birth. That was how long before Princess and Mark were able to make peace with the truth.
After many months of observation and trying to see Jane's remnants in Jennie. They didn't need to be extra observant, though. Because with the thought engraved in their heads, they could easily detect Jennie's habits that they would only see Jane doing. Starting from the way Jennie walked, the way she constructed her sentences, even the slightest flick of her fingers reminded them of Jane.
Fig and Bear, who already knew the truth, let them take their time. Sometimes, though, they would give them pieces of advice.
"Please be you," Princess whispered, still having this tiny doubt in her heart. "Don't break my trust... though you never did."
Trust was something hard to give for Princess, but she wanted to take a leap of fate. She wanted to take a leap of fate, just like what she had done when she wore this bracelet in her possession.
All she wished for right now was that this truth was the real truth. Something that wouldn't leave them with another huge scar in their hearts.
"Miracle..." she murmured, smiling subtly. "She really did name her daughter such a name... just like what she always told me."

"Gosh." Jennie chuckled as she shook her head, placing the small bracelet back in the small box. "She really knows how to make me tear up sometimes."
Jennie sniffed hard, even though there weren't any tears in her eyes. She went through the drawer once again, taking out a box of moisturizer from it. She didn't waste time sliding Princess's gift to the side before doing her skincare. Enough with the sentimental moment, but rather, she had to be glad that Princess and Mark already accepted the truth.
They didn't need to tell her directly. Their actions were enough.
"I feel more reassured now," she murmured as she finished applying the moisturizer, gazing down at the gift from Princess. "I'm sure my kids are being loved and protected."
Her lips stretched from ear to ear, placing the jar of moisturizer in place. Before getting up from her seat, she picked up the small box to show it to Miracle. Though Miracle couldn't wear this for now, it would be nice to tell her daughter about it. Her husband was still not here, so she could only share her excitement with her baby.
With that in mind, Jennie giddily and hurriedly returned to her room where Miracle and Bear were.
"Bear —" Jennie almost bit her tongue as soon as she stepped into the room, holding the door still. Her eyes landed on Bear's back, catching the bunny ears on top of his head.
Huh?
Slowly, Bear turned his head in her direction. The second he did, he revealed the fake mustache, fake big nose, and glasses on his face. He was also wearing an ear bunny. In his hands were stuffed toys she left on the sofa earlier today. His overall look... was strange. Such a big man and yet, he was trying to make himself look like a clown.
'Don't tell me this is how he stopped Miracle from crying?' Her face twitched, biting her entire bottom lip to stop herself from laughing out loud. "pfft --"
"Don't laugh," warned Bear and then turned his attention to the baby when he heard her let out a soft hic. "Baby Miracle, are you crying? But why? Papa Bear is here — nom nom nom."
Bear played with the stuffed toys, giving them their own voices. Listening and watching what was happening, Miracle's adorable laughter echoed as if someone were tickling her.
"Pfft!" Jennie covered her mouth, holding back her laughter at the silly sight of Bear. She cleared her throat when Bear glanced in her direction, forcing her to keep a poker face, which she failed miserably.
"I already forgot how to carry such a small child," explained Bear with a helpless sigh, setting his focus on the baby. His eyes softened at the heartwarming smile plastered on Miracle. "Miracle is so precious. We love her so much — ah, a monster! Miracle fight!"
Jennie still had her lips stretched from ear to ear. A part of her still wanted to laugh out loud, but the dominant part of her just felt grateful. Surely, her children were loved and at this point, she felt grateful that her secret was revealed.
Although the reason for revealing the truth was unpleasant, she could now see the good side of it.
